Pros: small
Cons: poor battery life, if battery dies will not charge at all
This is a piece of junk. If you let the battery run down phone will not recharge it.
Battery runs down even if phone is "OFF". Tried 3 new batteries and new chargers and all the batteries are now dead.
Motorola Canada service stinks. Says phone is old model so no support.
Pros: Just a great little phone
Cons: None
Its very hard to beat this phone for the price. just a very easy to use, great Batt. life.
Pros: Handles easily
Cons: Terrible phone
Received the Motorola V180 when signing up on a contract basis with T-Mobile. One night while I was on my way from work, I tried calling my daughter and the phone went DEAD. It was completely UNUSEABLE. Thank God I wasn't in an emergency situation where I had to depend on this phone!!. After three weeks of owning the V180, I realized why the phone was FREE. Went back to the store and they gave me another one which has been in the unopened box for over a year. I'm now in the process of trying out this one to see what's going to happen with it.
Pros: Light, easy to use, color screen, tough case
Cons: None for us
My wife and I bought two of these phones when we got to Italy last year. So far they've been great. I've dropped mine down two flights of stone stairs and it still works, the hinge only got tweaked a bit. No problems with the screens or batteries either. We did have a minor problem with one we had back in the States that wouldn't shut off when it was folded up, turned out to be the little sensor button wasn't seated right. A little manipulation with a needle fixed it right up. Overall these phones have been great for us.
Pros: durable, inexpensive
Cons: no longer made
I have (2) V180 phones. Both of them have survived 2 accidental rides in the washing machine, and they both still work as good as new.
It is a great, inexpensive phone that is very durable and dependable.
Pros: ring tone recording feature
Cons: the flip part will not close right battery dies
the flip part will not close all the way and the battery dies in about 2 hours of it being on. I have got a replacement 3 times and a new battery 3 times and still the same issue the 3rd replacement has the hinge isue where the flip part will not close all the way it always stays a little part of it open this is the worst phone motorola has created

Pros: Long battery life
Cons: Drops calls, static fuzz during calls, people on other side can't hear you,
Overall this phone sucks butt. The only redeeming quality is the long battery life and that is it. I get staic when making calls, dropped calls, people sometimes can't hear me on the other end. I use this phone for work and it has hurt my ability to call in and get decisions without using text service. I don't recommend getting this phone for anyone much less yourself. Motorola needs to test their products much better if they expect to keep people buying their products.
Pros: Cheep
Cons: Will not make it for the duration of the contract
On Dec 1 2005 I purchased 4 phones from Simply Wireless (two Razr's and two V180's all Motorola phones with Cingular accounts). One of the V180's had malfunctioned in August 2006. I e-mailed Simply Wireless on 10/5/06 and received an e-mail back on 10/7 stating that my cell phone was still under warranty and that I should contact Motorola directly. I called Motorola and talked with a rep (I do not remember her name) who recommended that I ship the phone to the Motorola Repair Center with a proof of purchase receipt. Motorola received the phone on 10/25/06 (still well within the warranty) and returned it to me on 10/30/06 as Out Of Warranty (No IMEI or MSN number). I called Motorolas service center on 10/30/06 and talked with John (#351791), who stated that Motorola was in error and will send me a UPS shipping slip to send the phone back to the Motorolas Service Center. After 5 days and still no sign of a UPS packing slip, I called Motorola again and talked with Jessica (#351777) in the service center (date 11/4). She told me that my phone was no longer under warranty and that the phone only had a 15 month warranty from date of production and not from date of sale. This contradicted the E-mail from Simply Wireless and my communication with John, the Motorola rep, on 10/30. I then asked to talk with the supervisor at the repair center. I was able to discuss my issue with a Mr. Facundo (who was less than courteous), who informed me that I needed to have a purchase receipt, from Simply Wireless, that contained the phones IMEI number and not just the phone number and model. I told him that I still have the original box with the IMEI and MSN number, but he stated that this would not be enough and that I needed a receipt with both date of purchase and the IMEI number. Furthermore, he told me that I needed to get the phone back to the service center before my warranty expired (even though my phone was already inside their facility for the same complaint). I called Simply Wireless who had e-mailed my documentation to me to prove that the phone I have is still under warranty. When I called on 11/6 the rep told me that the commuter was down and that I needed to call back later. This company stinks and if I ever get the phone repaired I will never get another Motorola phone for myself or my employees again.
Pros: can make own ringtones, kinda sorta.
Cons: cuts most of my calls off
crappy reception, so far it's cut the last 9 out of 10 phone calls i've made. And gives me very late notice on text messages and voicemails(days), likes turning itself off when i need it most, and gives me error messages all the time. and it takes hella long to charge. While everyone i know, it only takes an hour, mine takes an entire day to charge.
Pros: ease of use
Cons: vibrator went out, battery life is terrible
I purchased this phone almost two years ago. At first I had a really hard time getting the phone to turn on. Every now and then it was hard to turn my phone on. The battery life is okay, but could be a little better. The vibrator went out on my phone. So, it is impossible to put it on vibrate when I am in a meeting or around students. There have been other people that returned their phone and I am lucky that it lasted as long as it did. Be sure to read reviews on the phone you want before buying. This time around I did and I will be getting a new phone this week.
Pros: battery life, quality, ability to hold lots of downloads, etc.
Cons: sratches when dropped
amazing, my phone got ran over by a car and it still works like a charm. i have about 10 downloads with room to spare. sleek look and easy to decorate. covers, gemstones and stickers all make it loook good
Pros: battery life, quality, ability to hold lots of downloads, etc.
Cons: sratches when dropped
amazing, my phone got ran over by a car and it still works like a charm. i have about 10 downloads with room to spare. sleek look and easy to decorate. covers, gemstones and stickers all make it loook good
Pros: It doesn't fall apart to bad.
Cons: it's small and has a loud ringer setting.
This phone is a good one to start out with it's not that complicated. I've had mine for almost 2 years and I have dropped it many times and eveytime the only thing that really happens is the battery cover comes off (which can be a pain.) I liked it to start out with, but after awhile it started to echo everytime I talked or it would make me sound like I was a robot talking to someone and you could barely hear what the other person was saying. The outside scratches Very easily and gets smudges to where you can't even tell what time it is or who is calling. It was a good phone to start with but after almost having it 2 years I'm ready to get rid of it.
Pros: no camera, easy to use
Cons: bad reviews on this site
Use this or a similar phone for the office where you are not permitted a camera phone (mine is an office like this). Maybe a v182 or better if you are deceived by bad reviews.
Unless you drop a cell phone in the toilet or something it should not be all that bad since they have been getting a lot better than the original ones. Shut up about the toilet, it was my first phone plus I was in college and drunk... that's the reason I wear belt clips now.
Most cell phones are good and it is the service or location you are in that might suck. Either that or it is a defective version of the product so take it to where you bought it and demonstrate it as no good.
Pros: lighted keys, easy for anyone to operate
Cons: durablity, dropped calls, static.
have had my phone for alittle over a year, but has been diappointing me since I got it. smudges all over screen, scatches on the outside, if its left on constantly you don't get the best signal. I have had calls dropped everyday I've had it.
Pros: none to note
Cons: deliberately made to break
check this out: www.brokenv180.com
Pros: they are no pros to this phone
Cons: a s@&^ load of them
don't waste your time and money of this piece of s*&^
Pros: Cheap initial cost & small size
Cons: Durability and replacement cost
It's a neat little inexpensive phone when you are renewing and looking to cheaply downsize to a "pocket phone." But I carried mine in a protective cover in my pocket and within 10 months it started having extreme interference and dropping calls. After going through the initial "fix it" process (which was pretty painless) they decided to issue me a new, refurbished phone (again, pretty painless.) 2 days after I got it, I bumped my pocket with a folding chair and cracked the caller ID screen (which I have since learned is a common weakness of this phone.) Replacement cost for the phone? $150. No longer a cheap little phone!
Pros: battery life(if that's important)
Cons: overall not a good phone
I have a total of 4 v180 and all of them stopped working. 3 of them blogged out withing 2 months, and within six months they all had blacked out. Not being able to see who call or who you are calling. I'm glad two the four phones were free. I think it one of the weaker phones out there and should be taken off the market. Too many problems including call-drops all the time and no signal most of the time. Good Luck to those of you who can say better.
Pros: nothing
Cons: it sucks
it sucks!!!!!!!
