The Phone is Better But Still Has Issues...

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 5, 2005 | 14 out of 16 found this Motorola MPx220 review helpful

Pros: form factor;screen size; ease of use; contact querying

Cons: blue screen of death's; hangs up wont even turn off; slow messaging client; poor SIM card integration

Overall I am luke warm to this phone, the novelity of being able to connect with my PC and Outlook has worn off... like a new relationship, in the beginning no one can do any "wrong". Well my love affair has changed, tired of the slow acces...s to messaging to POP my email (beyond Outlook mail synch); tired of the phone getting a "blue screen of death". It was so bad I finally had to off load my POP email client cause it hung up the phone everytime I used it; tired of not being able to find my SIM card phone numbers that were already on my SIM before I changed phones (you look up a contact then scan through everything alphabetically) then you get to your SIM contacts. No ability to view JUST the SIM numbers, which is important! When you synch with your PC you get ALL the numbers as addresses in contacts... so finding a number among 2000 contacts this feature becomes critical. In general the biggest issue is the phone's slow to respond to Key pad strokes (very slow) compared with what you expect from a cell phone. It effects all sorts of little things you just expect as a user. On the positive side... GREAT sound quality for ringtones, great form factor, battery life is fine, solid speaker phone, great Video Clip capture (although it took me forever to figure out the video player plays back in Quicktime, not Windows Media Player 10). Like the memory slot great feature, charger is nice as well (small)! Read more Less
