    Great Phone

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 30, 2005 | 57 out of 60 found this Motorola E815 review helpful

Pros: Bright sharp inner display, loud ringer and sound, speaker phone

Cons: low res outer display,no camera lens cover

Overall this is the best phone Ive ever had.Great graphics, great sound, great keyboard, superb call quality. Battery time is great compared to my old t730. 1.3 camera takes good quality pics. Has movie mode with sound.Good looks. My only complaints s...o far would be that there is no camera lens cover, I carry it in my pocket so sometimes it gets lint on the lens. And the outer display is low resolution (but big & color). Neither of these are a big deal to me. Read more Less

    E815 vs V60P

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 15, 2005 | 28 out of 29 found this Motorola E815 review helpful

Pros: I have not lost any calls in areas where I did with the V60P. The speaker is much clearer/louder. The display is excellent. The security features are the best.

Cons: The "viberation" is not as strong on the E815.

Overall, I highly recommend the E815. For a person of large or small statue, the phone is very easy to handle. Motorola, you realy put your heart in this one! ALW

    Great Phone

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 20, 2005 | 11 out of 11 found this Motorola E815 review helpful

Pros: Bright clear screen, long battery life, large internal memory, mp3s in stereo, nice keypad feel

Cons: Slightly large, vibrate is weak, features crippled by Verizon

I like this phone a lot. This is my first cell phone and I've had it for 3 weeks. The Good: The internal screen seems big enough and has great contrast and color. The keypad has a great feel. I've always had great reception, even inside b...uildings. The battery seems to last and last. I don't have the problem that other people report of the phone switching from EVDO to 1x that kills the battery. Where I live and travel (so far) I always have EVDO, so I don't have the switching problem. 40 MB internal memory is pretty good for a phone. If you need serious storage (to use the phone for an mp3 player, for instance (in stereo if you buy the stereo headset)) you can use the transflash (I put in a 512 mb). You can play any video files you want as long as you encode a file from your computer and copy it to the transflash. At the recommeded compression levels, you can get about 1 mb per minute of video! I could go on and on about the good features but I must mention... The Bad: I wish the phone was a bit thinner and lighter. The outside screen is kind of low res, but at least it's color. Verizon has crippled some of the phones features, encouraging you to use Get it Now to purchase ring tones, etc. But it's easy enough to get around some of these limitations. The vibration is weak. I've had the phone on vibrate for about a week, and I've never actually felt it yet. Overall, I think it's a great phone. Read more Less

    Bad Ass Phone

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 8, 2005 | 8 out of 8 found this Motorola E815 review helpful

Pros: great camera, good screen size and color, easy to use

    Cons: vibrate mod sucks

Just bought the phone and it rocks! I've used several phones and really did my research on this phone and the competition. The E815 wins hands down. I have several friends thats are tech nuts and they are planning to buy the phone now. The blueto...oth works great and everyone is amazed at the quality of the pictures it takes. The flash is a good touch as well. I haven't used the Vcast but the screen is cristal clear. The outer screen isn't the clearest but what does that matter. I've had no problems with reception and speaker phone works find. Other reviews give problems with battery charge but mine has never gone below a 4 of 6 bars, even after an hour of talk time and text messaging. I would recommend this phone to anyone. Motorola E815

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 17, 2005 | 7 out of 8 found this Motorola E815 review helpful

Pros: Nice phone overall, Lots of features, Takes nice pics and movies

Cons: Battery doesn't last, No camera cover, Free blue tooth headset is flimsy

This is the first cell phone I've owned and I'm very pleased over all. I bought 2 phones, one for me and one for my husband. So far both phones have worked as expected. I can't wait to save up and buy the 512 MB transflash card and load ...it with some MP3s. It comes with 40 MB's built in which is Ok for now. It will hold loads of pictures and short movies with just the 40 MB's that came with it. It takes decent pictures and short movies with sound. But you will need software and a USB cable (not included) to upload them to your PC. I found this online for around $30. It's supposed to be able to use blue tooth to upload to your PC but Verison has disabled this feature. Why I don't know. I heard there were some law suits going on about this with an earlier model that was the same way. The main draw back of this phone is the battery. I don't think the meter is correct because it will show a full charge yet the phone dies quickly while in us Read more Less

e815 and Verizon; Oil and water.

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 11, 2005 | 10 out of 16 found this Motorola E815 review helpful

Pros: Nice keypad, large vibrant screen, feels sturdy

Cons: Only 6 call history; Insufficient battery life; Alarm doesn't go off if TXT message incoming; Cannot upload mp3, ringtones, wallpaper, skins to phone. Wonky flip out doesn't click, kinda wobbles when open.

Motorola: * battery life; Phone 'thrashes', searching for EVDO network continuously. Less than advertised battery life. * alarm & txt; If you set an alarm, and receive a SMS/MMS message before the alarm goes off, it will, in fact, NOT go off.... * included features; Cannot delete like 30 junk images and sounds from the phone, making it difficult to locate anything you may actually like, because you have to sift through the crap. The included ringtones are bogus. Verizon: * bluetooth; is crippled. my understanding is that the moto hardware is capable of downloading via bluetooth, but verizon has removed that functionality. * wap; cannot set your own wap portal, must use verizons. fixable with a hack. * get it now; the proposed reason for not being able to upload your own ringtones and whatnot to the phone; however, there's nothing useful or reasonably priced on get it now. ------- Day 5 - I have 14 days to return the phone. I really don't like that I&# Read more Less

    Motorola e815 - WOW!!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 1, 2005 | 4 out of 4 found this Motorola E815 review helpful

    Pros: Everything

    Cons: none worth mentioning

The e815 is perhaps the most advanced personal audio/video communication tool on the mkt today. The home display has very large, high resolution and extreme vibrant color screen. All of the multiple phone features are user friendly and super easy to ...navigate even for the novice. Picture quality is great and can be easily captured quickly. The voice recognation activated features are exceptional. The easily installed 256mg T-flash memory card to expannd the MP3 audio downloads & picture files is a real plus. Verizon has definately partnered with a Motorola model that in my opinion is second to none, especially with their rebate offers. My experience with Verizon is unsurpassed in total coverage area and quality as well without a doubt. Read more Less

Pros: loud ear piece volume,ok camera, speaker phone with flip closed

Cons: battery is terrible, cheaply made but better then the v710

its a ok phone, battery does not last long even with the extended battery, speaker phone could be louder and sounds kinda tinny, the alarm will not sound if you have a text message or voicmail waiting,so if you use the alarm to wake up in the morning an...d get a text message overnight and dont check it the alarm wont go off i tried it a couple of times.pc the extended battery for the v710 fits the e815. Do not buy this phone

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Aug 1, 2006 | 5 out of 7 found this Motorola E815 review helpful

    Pros: none

Cons: vibrate, layout, camera, text messaging, battery, contacts list, many more.

The day I bought this phone I liked it. Three weeks later I liked it. It took about a month before I grew to dislike it. It was only a week or two more than that before I truly hated it. I have had four cell-phones, this is by far the worst I'...;ve ever owned. The vibrate is virtually non-existent. I can't hear it on the table next to me if there is any noise in the office. I usually miss it if its in my pocket, leading to constant checks. Checking to see if you've missed calls can also be problematic. If you hit any of the side keys (which is not difficult to accidently do) you will clear the missed call message. If the screen on the closed phone isn't lit up, you have to hit a button to light it up, thus clearing the missed call message. If you open the phone with one hand, you will usually turn on the camera. One false move and it is very easy to erase entire messages after typing them, tediously i might add, because there is no T9 feature. Each letter must be manually entered, i.e. 2-2-2 (wait five seconds) 2 (wait five seconds) 2-2 to type "cab." Err on one letter, five painstaking sentences into a text message, and you have to hit clear. Miss ever so slightly (which is easy to do since you will almost certainly develop carpal tunnel (spelling?) syndrome from the number of button presses required for the most simple of words) and you will hit end instead of clear, and be forced to start all over. Unlike the most basic of phones, it does not automatically save it as a draft. The battery life is short, but not awful. I could live with it were it not for the phone's habit of not coming back after charging. If the phone is near dead and you put it on the charger, it will blink, turn off and on and off again, but it will be a while before it is usable. I would rather have my old startac than this phone, hands down. It seems to flip out right before I need it most. Flying to chicago in the morning, the backlight stopped working for days. I could dial, I just couldn't see what I was dialing, nor could I see my contacts list. I could make and receive calls, but had no idea the numbers. It also has a tendency to freeze, necessitating shutting it and waiting several minutes to work itself out. Read more Less
