After moving to the Atlanta suburb of Marietta, GA, to live with his grandparents, singer/guitarist Zach Tipton started playing in a band with some new friends of his, drummer Bobby Theberge, keyboardist Chris Firebaugh, and an unnamed female vocalist. But Tipton soon grew tired of their dancerock direction, prompting the crew to switch out their extra singer with bassist Deejay Schulz, and the guys started playing a more grounded indie rock clattering under the name In Vitro.
