The Morning After - Deborah Cox

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 6, 2003

Deborah Cox 3rd album and her first for J Records. Deborah co-wrote the first single with Terry Lewis of the duo Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. This is a soft swinging song that shows Deborah song writing skills at its best. Rapper Jadakiss gives the son...g a flow that is his trademark, the production is tight. It shows another playful side of Deborah, a more sexy side. The 2nd song "Too Good to be true" produced by Jermain Dupree Deborah gives us rich vocals and convincing lyrics. The whole album is an incredible body of work from a very soulful and articulate artist. The title song "The morning After" co-written by Deborah and Warren Campbell is a true masterpiece. The lyrics tell about a friendship that turned into love a situation many people can relate to. The song's lush arrangements with its symphonies and strings is truly a work that cannot be compared. True genius. This album is her best album to date. Read more Less

MS. COX out of Da BOX ...........SMASH

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 9, 2002

Well all i can say is that this CD is worth the wait. From the 1st single Up and Down she puts her vocals down and works this song out. and the remix wit Jadakiss has street all over it and it works. other cuts worth a listen is "Play Your Part" where... Deborah tells us guys to play our part or we are outta there fasho she sings with such power wit this song Shep Crawford always bring out the best in Ms. Cox........Now i know why Clive signed this gifted songtress......Deborah has fun on the track "LIke I Did" The Rodney Jerkins produced song is tight and Deborah wraps her voice around this song and Kills it, Also the Jimmy Jam /Terry Lewis produced song "Hurt So Much" is just Classic front to back. Ms. Cox works Mr. Lonely and Absolutely Not into a Frenzy the only way she knows how......Wit Power. So to not get this CD would be a federal charge in my book. Trust me "The Morning After" you'll play it again and again......Etc Read more Less

The song she has with Jadakiss called "Up and Down" is completely off the richter scale. Hopefully the rest of the album will continue to blaze that trail.
