Pros: great lyrics, great range of material and sound
Cons: a couple of the songs sound vaguely similar
I hadn't actually been a matchbox twenty fan until I listened to a couple of songs and bought this cd out of curiousity. Heck, was I surprised! The range of sounds on this cd, from the gospel-fringed "Downfall" to the cocky "You're So Real" to the brooding "Could I Be You", this cd fails to disappoint anywhere. My personal favorite is #12, "The Difference" followed up by "So Sad, So Lonely". The first makes me cry practically every time I hear it; the second is what gets me back on my feet. Congrats to mb20 for touching another fan-I'm buying EP as soon as possible!
Pros: Every song is a hit
Cons: none
This Cd has everything you could want in an album.
The instruments are fantastic along with the lyrics.
Rob Thomas has one of the best voices i have ever heard.
this is the type of cd whare you can hear the whole thing and not skip a track
is it just me or is rob thomas the most annoying singer ever.
pretty good stuff from the boys that i thought creed blew away. my new favorite. can't get "jenny the boy" ou of my head. Good job guys! buy this product!
This is Awesome, after all it's Matchbox Twenty!
There are some Awesome grooves to this record, ranging from slow to enourmously loud.
Whats more the show tonight was a blast they have only played BRISBANE in Australia once before but tonight it rocked! Keep it up boys!!!
i think that overall there songs are very good i like the song unwell the best
totally awesome the lyrics really touch my heart
Not only is this one of Matchbox Twenty's best albums so far, it is one of my favorites. I can't think of any cd besides this one where I can listen through every track without skipping forward. A great band and a great album. Screw the AMG Review
This is my favorite of their CD's. I didn't really like Mad Season that much but this one is a lot more catchy and they have a good variety of songs.
Rob Thomas has such a gift for delivering a way to say things youve always thought about yourself, just never had the right words to say what you mean. It isnt untill I heard this album, did I feel that someone would ever say those words. I feel this is truley Matchbox Twentys best work yet, and expect great things to come. I cant get the CD out of my player.
Matchbox 20 has often (and accurately) been described as "middle of the road," but never before has it been more obvious than on this album. For one thing, not much stands out as especially unique here. "Feel" has a promising beginning, but by the song's end you're up to your knees in mediocrity. "Disease" and "Unwell" are well-written pop songs and have great hooks, but once you swim past them, the mainstream has risen up to your shoulders. From "Cold" until "Could I Be You" (what a song title!), absolutely nothing remains in your memory a minute after you hear it. "Downfall" and "Soul" are decent, if not status quo. Though "You're So Real" sounds like a pitiful reworking of "Crutch" from Mad Season, it still manages to claw above the mediocrity before it. Album closer "The Difference" is typical Rob Thomas slow-song fare, much like "If You're Gone." Of course, you don't have to take my word that this album is unambitious; just listen to the band members' comments at the end of the silly bonus track and you will have no doubt in your mind: "I cannot believe we just spent so long on that...it was LAME! So LAME!"
This album rocks!!! As good as the previous ones. It's such a miracle that they did it again!!!
Marchbox Twenty at their best! With this album they reached again the level of "yourself or someone like you" (if you don't have it...it's a MUST!!). Great songs, great rhythms, great melodies. What else to say... GOOD JOB GUYS!!!
this cd is what matchbox twenty fans have been waiting for for 2 years! it rocks all the way through.
MB Twenty at their finest. I like the retro feel of the album. Many throw backs to the sounds of good ol' rock n' roll - Roy Orbinson, Tom Petty, etc. Their influences are all over the album. Great stuff!
What can I say? Buy it and you'll see.
The whole CD is great. I've really liked the first 2 albums and this one might be the best yet.
MB20 is awesome. I got the cd the day it came out and have listened to it everyday. It continues to grow on me! I have the previous two CD's and this just adds to the amazing sounds they produce! I have even seen them in concert and can't wait til they tour again with this album! Can't wait to see what the next single will be...all of them will be hits.
Once again, Matchbox Twenty have proven their versatile style and ability to evolve. From writing, to dynamics and arrangement they have produced another spectacular album!
wow. this is matchbox 20 at its finest! there is no band out there that compares to these guys. i was hooked on mad season but this is delicious also. i probably need to get yourself or someone like you to hear the beginnings of the best. rob thomas is the bomb! this is creative stuff. keep it on the d/l and dont turn like the rest of them!

Fantastic new music from a great band. Some very unusual sounds along with some classic matchbox twenty sounds. A real gem is So Sad So Lonely, the bonus, unlisted song at the end of track 12. It is awesome!
They've done it again, only differently. I'm enjoying this new album immensely, and it grows on me more and more with each listen. I'm so happy that this isn't YOSLY II or Mad Season II. This album is it's own entity and nothing like either of the earlier ones. Their sound is growing and maturing - and I like it!
The entire album is just fantastic. From the electric-heavy Disease to the softer Unwell, matchbox twenty doesn't fail to perform yet again at their finest! Their third album is a perfect companion to Yourself or Someone Like You and Mad Season. No fan will be disappointed & new fans will enjoy every word from Rob Thomas' lips.
This album is incredible, as usual. I heard a likeness to many different bands as I listened to this album, from the Beatles to Collective Soul. Even though they may have used more outside influences, it is still distinctive matchbox twenty music. Incredible lyrics, incredible music. This band is never a let down when it comes to new material. I wish them the best of luck with this album, as it is proof that they are growing and maturing and evolving as a band. Always a joy to listen to new material!
