Love the horns on San Angelo. Another fine mix of traditional and original cowboy and western songs.

  • All Music Guide

Marty Robbins' sequel to Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs followed the same formula as its predecessor, dividing traditional cowboy songs with original numbers by Robbins. Though the album didn't feature any hit singles, it was the equal to its predecessor -- "San Angelo" is one of Robbins' best cowboy songs, while his version of "Streets of Laredo" boasts one of his finest vocals.
