Synopsis: Monument Ave. (1998)

A drama that takes place in the gritty streets of South Boston. Leary gives an impassioned performance as Bobby O'Grady, a member of an Irish-American gang, who must remain loyal to his boss (Meaney) even after he has learned that he has murdered one of Bobby's best friends.

    This film is one of my all-time favorites. An honest account of life in Charlestown MA (not South Boston, sorry Southie), through the eyes of 0ne of its own "Townies". This dark film with its raw edge is difficult to find duplicated in any work the...se days. This is easily Denis Leary 's best film. The supporting cast is fantatic (Meaney, Sheen & even Ms Janssen). Ted Demme does an excellent job of developing the charachters and has everyone cheering for Bobby O. Read more Less
