Hailing from Mountlake Terrace, WA, the eclectic trio known as Mon Frere cultivate electroshock, jazztinged dancepop with a punk rock attitude. Consisting of vocalist/keyboard player Nouela Johnston, guitarist Kyle Swisher, and drummer Dustin McGhie, the group funded the creation of its debut EP with winnings from a "Battle of the Bands" contest. The resulting Real Vampires was released in 2005 on Cake Records, followed by the fulllength Blood, Sweat, and Swords in May 2006.
