With the ability to read over 12 CD formats you can rest assured that the data you need to get will be there. Featuring 2 channels of audio with an output level of .85 Vrms (typ), a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz (+1.0/-4.0dB), and a signal to noise ratio of 75dB or more don't worry about hearing anything other than what you are supposed to hear. At 24x Read speed, a data transfer rate of up to 3,600 Kbytes/sec (Mode 1) or 4,224 Kbytes/sec (Mode 2) and an access time as low as 100 milliseconds you will be able to get to the data and get going. With the weight of 170g or less the SR244W is a great choice for installation into a laptop, and the desktop version at 230g or less has the added advantage of being installed vertically or horizontally allowing you to most effectively utilize your desktops available space.
