Minimal Compact
Minimal Compact was formed in Israel in the late '70s; the desire for success led the band to move to France, where they signed with the Belgian label Crammed Discs. They were quite prolific throughout the '80s, releasing over six LPs' worth of tasteful, elegant art pop and dance-rock in Belgium. The group also backed Wire frontman Colin Newman on his 1986 solo LP Commercial Suicide (Newman is married to Compact member Malka Spigel).
