    Cons: One particular gunfight I found implausible

    "Miller's Crossing" is a fantastic movie. During prohibition, two crime families are battling. We follow the #2 man of one as he tries to solve the dispute between the two intellectually inferior crime lords. This is the Coens at their ...best, dark, funny, easy to watch but oh-so-complex. So many scenes come to mind when I think of this movie. This is the initial appearance of Steve Buscemi, in what would be his typical wacky small role (until "Fargo"). Many other recurring actors seen in later Coen movies also make their first appearance in this. This is a must-see if you're into gangster movies, or art movies. Read more Less
