for everyone who has XP home, or is thinking of buying their verson listen up! I upgraded from Windows ME and XP was a huge pain to install! 1).It was a HUGE pain to install! I had to install it like 5 or 6 times before i finally got internet access! 2). MONEY! I (and you) have to spend a lot of money to upgrade all your programs to make them compadible with XP. i meet the minium requirment of 64MB of RAM and i have been told that XP is Memory Hog! causeing you to go out and spend $30-60 on meomory. Think about it. the depening on what verson of XP you buy(Home $99/Pro $199/) and there is also the upgrade, or the full installation. say you buy the Home upgrade for about $100 and you have to buy new verison such as, oh lets say Norton Anti Virus 2002, and a bunch of other stuff. well software is around $40-$60 and depending on how much you buy it will be a lot. and there is a saying if you have to spend more then $500 on a upgrade you are better of getting a new PC. But if you got a computer no later then the begining of 2000 you should be fine. just read up on XP and here what people say.
But i am dogg up XP so dont get me wrong. it really is a great OS it is more stabble then XP and AOL moves a lot quicker then ME. and i dont get kicked off line anymore. and it is just a matter of adding more memory and new verisons of prgrams very slowly. i would recomend XP for the right people. HAVE FUN!! ...
