Pros: Latest from windows
Cons: too easy to use
Best of the best. Windows Vista is here, easy to use, compatible, everything you need in 1 place.
Windows Vista is a must have for your computer
Pros: easy compatibity
Cons: not enough 64bit progams out there
Windows should have made vista little smaller in size
Pros: Pretty
Cons: Actually worse than Win/95 and dare I say it, 3.1!
Vista came on a new laptop I just bought and I'm very unimpressed. It's bloated and slow. I've been using both Windows and Linux for nearly 15 years. Each had it's advantages and disadvantages. When Win/2000 came out I was actually impressed that MS had finally come out with a stable multi-user OS (well sort of). XP was a slight improvement for the home user at least. However, Vista is like a step back more than a decade. People have to keep upgrading their equipment because each new instance of Windows is more resource hungry. It's not much of an upgrade to buy a computer that's twice as powerful as your last when the OS uses nearly a half GB just to boot.
I never really cared for the Windows emulators for Linux because running Windows only apps seemed sluggish. They're still sluggish but actually run faster with an emulator than with Windows itself. Can't see much reason to waste all that HD space for an inferior product. I'm done with Windows. If MS can come up with a lean, fast, and lightweight OS that gives the user real options as to what they'd like to install instead of installing a billion apps the end user will never, ever use, (and none they really need) I would consider switching back to MS products but for now I'm taking a break from Windows.
If MS released a stripped down version with out all the silly-ness and so-called security features, I'd buy it. The biggest security risk to any machine is the user. They don't make a patch for people's inate need to accept candy from strangers.
Vista is really pretty but it really doesn't do much and what it does, it does slowly.

Pros: Nhìn thì Äẹp mắt, có nhiá»u cái hay, có lý
Cons: Còn lâu má»i xà i ná»i
Chừng nà o tao có xiá»n tao upgrade liá»n ^^!
Pros: Security, Customizable
Cons: Compatibility Issues, Speed
I have Vista Basic with my new PC, and about the best thing Vista has going for it is the better security, and it seems to be more customizable than other Windows. But it takes up sooo much memory resources, and it slower than Me or 98, and for the price? Also, so many programs are not compatible. If you can, stick with XP, or upgrade memory to AT least 1MB. I expected better.
Pros: It's an operating system
Cons: It's really bad
If you are a gamer, much like myself, then I suggest not getting this. Windows Vista takes up SOOO much resource that your games suffer from it. I should of stuck with XP.
Pros: It looks slick
Cons: Explorer keeps crashing
I reacantly bought a laptop with windows vista. The laptop is great the vista os not so much. while not all is bad about vista it looks good and the file browsing is cool. The issue with explorer shuting down is not cool. Thire are a few hundred post on microsoft for sevral months and microsoft has not even aknowledged it is a issue. I would skip vista till they release service pack 2.
Pros: good
Cons: .
best of microsofts os
Pros: None that I've found yet
Cons: Needs an exorcist
I waited for Vista to come out to purchase my new almost $3,000.00 desktop because it sounded wonderful. What it feels like I bought is a very expensive boat anchor. I use(d) a Palm for appointments, addresses etc., but it's not compatable with Vista. I find it very user UNfriendly. It changes colors on some sites (like Nascar) because it says the site is not compatable. It won't recognize my network and I've sent in requests to HP on 2 separate occasions about this and have NO response. It goes to sleep and won't wake up. When this happens you have to shut it down, reboot and when you do it makes dial-up look like the fastest thing on the planet. You have to verify everything every time which is very annoying. You don't have the option to say yes so it doesn't ask again. It puts my favorites in order every time I have to reboot and sometimes it just does it because it feels like it. Even the sidebar changes by itself. First the clock is there then it isn't, then the calendar is on top then it's in the middle. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. It has a mind of it's own and comes up with something new every few days. I hate it soooooooooo much I could just cry. Oh yes, before I forget my e-mail only feeds to the desktop with Vista and no longer goes to my laptop which is XP and this makes it impossible to update the laptop from e-mail notices. Did I mention that I HATE Vista. XP is the way to go. Does anyone know if you can delete it and install XP? Oh one more thing---when you're typing it drops letters, adds spaces or won't let you add them and it isn't my keyboard because I've tried 3 different keyboards. If you already have it I wish you all the luck in the world.
Pros: Easiest to use, no matter what you are doing.
Cons: hefty hardware requirements.
I am using a laptop with a 500g HDD AND 10 GB RAM!
Pros: Good security
Cons: Compatibility with the existing computers and softwares
Regarding the security features of the software, I think it is better than Microsoft XP. But on reality, most of the companies that exist today do not want to upgrade much of the computers that they have because it will cost too much and also the software that they are using might not work on Vista. Upgrading is an expensive thing to do specially if you are just a small time company. I, myself, don't upgrade my software nor upgrade my computer because I am able to use its full potential.
Pros: Has compatibility features,nice interface
Cons: Not compatible with some products, not fully customizable like Windows XP
Windows Vista is great, but i wish it could support some software that work with Windows XP.The worst thing to happen in Windows Vista is getting lost with its features.I've tried it before, but it was not like what i expected.I think others might do better with Windows XP.
Pros: None
Cons: It doesn't have DOS and its made by microsoft.
Personally I hate it. Not just because it is made by Microsoft, because of the poor planning. The only way its possible to have a stable operating system right after it is released is if it is Linux. Honestly keep XP if you are running it or whatever older version of windows your running. Even if you are running Windows 3.1 keep it Vista is not worth the money.
