    Pros: none

Cons: PC actually runs slower in most cases

    Defintely wait till next year

There are still a lot of bugs to be remedied.

    overall a fairly decent product

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 22, 2007 | 8 out of 9 found this Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium review helpful

Pros: seamless interface, I like the sidebar which is actually pretty useful, pretty much works with the majority of my programs I had on XP

Cons: only 1 or 2 programs that had compatibilty issues, freezing

I knew I would have problems when I spent the money on this product not long after it came out with freezing and minor compatibility, but look at Windows XP and the fact that it froze when it was being demonstrated for the first time so this product ...like Xp will end up working pretty well over time like XP does with Service Pack 2. All I can say is that wait for the updates and fixes to come out over time and when they do then have Windows update automatically download and install them and it won't be long before this Windows will work just as well as XP does!! No one should be picking on the few of us who actually bought and upgraded to Vista early, because its better to spend the money now and download the updates and fixes over time, rather then wait another year and spend the money then. How overly pretty

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 14, 2007 | 8 out of 10 found this Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium review helpful

    Pros: Great looks and options

Cons: some configurations feel a little too watered down, making troubleshooting limited

WHY WON'T MY INTERNET WORK I have Windows Vista Home Premium on my new laptop. I've had no foul ups in freezing and such so far (exempt my internet not working!!!). When you first start up, everytime you go into any configuration, a securi...ty question will pop up and ask if it's ok. That was annoying, no wonder the mac commercials made fun of it. It's easy to disable under User Accounts though, so that's good. I wouldn't deem that feature necessary, because it seems more an obstacle than anything else. If you're not computer saavy, then you're gonna be stuck with that annoying security prompt I imagine. I have to admit, it runs smooth, then again, my computer is loaded w/ a fast processor and lots of memory. Windows Vista is by far the prettiest version out there. If you don't swing for the fancy look, you can choose classic. Windows Aero is flashy, and has no useful value whatsoever. It just looks cool. Eh, fine by me. Other than that, WHY WON'T MY INTERNET WORK!?!?!?! I only have a cable modem with physical ethernet connection at home, nothing complicated. I'm online on my older pc right now, it works fine. I've tried resetting the modem, the laptop, IP config, automatic settings, stealing my own IP to use as a static connection, etc.... What's going on here? Read more Less

    Vista...Not too shabby...

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 16, 2007 | 6 out of 7 found this Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium review helpful

Pros: It's "pretty", nice feautres, and easy to use.

Cons: Some hardware and software not compatible, but thats expected....

Installed cleanly with no problems, and runs great on my computer. I really like the new interface. It's very easy to use, but takes some getting used to. Had to dig to find a few things, but no real problem. I bought the OEM version, so I have n...o support or documentation....don'
t think I'll need it. Overall I think ol' Bill has got a good thing going....

Pros: Great new features, Very easy to use

    Cons: None so far

I got Vista Premium about 2 week ago and so far its great. I have total computer over what my computer can and cant do. Personalization features are great for those people that like to have things just right and the new Gadgets add-on puts a nice lit...tle touch to your desktop. Read more Less

    Microsoft makes a comeback!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 18, 2007 | 4 out of 5 found this Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium review helpful

Pros: Fresh new interface, easy to use, great new features, sidebar

Cons: Perhaps taken some features from Mac Osx, but that could be a good thing.

Many people, after their experiences with previous Windows operating systems, refuse to see the bright side of things. Vista is different from the rest. All those things that you hear about mac, including the "fun" way of making movies and ...pics, can now be done with Vista, and it is even easier to do it. It is much safer, and the new interface is beautiful, unmatched in today's operating systems. Read more Less

2 mos use of Vista Ultimate

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Apr 30, 2007 | 2 out of 2 found this Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium review helpful

    Pros: New, compatible

    Cons: Slow, Huge, Klutzy, buggy

Search feature is even harder to use. HP keyboard has extra keys where ctrl and alt used to be that lock up typing, Slower than XP, Even with a faster processor 4800 and faster memory computer has a hard time getting things done. Basic controls have ...been hidden even deeper. Search is no longer on WinExplore but in start button. New sidebar hogs screen space. Cursor dissapears any time a movie/news plays on screen from your isp. Dissapointed. The much vaunted watching TV on a PC is worthless. Who wants to watch TV on a 19 inch screen when you can use a regular 32"" with antennae and receive HD? feeding it to 32" screen through computer slow down anything you do on computer to a crawl. Defragging no longer shows what is going on. But you can continue using computer. IF you do so, you have no idea what defrag is doing as defragging takes 6 hours+. I recommend going back to XP. Not ready for prime time

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 16, 2007 | 7 out of 13 found this Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium review helpful

    Pros: Cool graphics

Cons: Constant warning notices and requests for permission, difficulty finding program files, penchant for opening multiple copies of Explorer when all I want to do is visit a different web page, automatically attempting to re-start Explorer when I attempt to close it.

My computer (a Fujitsu N3520) is much less functional than when it ran on XP. My application panel, a really usefull function with the Fujitsu line, is totally non-functional. When I download the fix from Fujitsu, the Windows install sheild screws up... the installation - eight times in a row. Vista take too much time to load and way too much time to shut down. While I realize that some of this is because it is installing updates, the program gives no notification that this is what is going on - so how do you know whether it is updating or has frozen up. Last night, my computer took 15 minutes to shut down, I thought it was broke. Vista makes me wish that I had bought a Mac. Read more Less
