This is by far, the best Metroid in the series. It perfectly captures the essence of the first three games but at the same time finds a way to bring in huge changes.
Metroid IV takes all of the exploration of he previous games and adds another character: the computer. This is basically your new boss. It gives you the missions to complete and tells you the new enemies and powerups to keep an eye open for. This keeps the advenure very straightfoward at the start but later, it really opens up all kinds of new possibilities.
The effects that blaze on your little screen are amazing. The graphics are basically the same as the SNES version, but they are much more detailed in the backgrounds and special animations.
The controls are also about the same as before, but having fewer options for buttons, the playability is even more natural.
The amazing story is full of unexpected twists and turns and has plenty of old characters to bring back memories.The music and sound effects are also better than ever.
All in all, this game is basically perfect and is an instant classic. You need to get your hands on it if you havn't already. As of now, I have beat the game six times and my highest score is 96%. It's still lots of fun and I am going to keep playing it for a long time.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoMetroid for a new generation.
This Metroid which came out along side the awesome "Metroid Prime" is in its own scale just as grand. The gameplay which is almost identical to Super Metroid gets a little twist this time. Samus who became infected by an alien parasite and almost loses her life must now contend with the same parasite who almost destroyed her. With the ability now to absorb the body snatching fiends and recover life she is on a deadly advance towards death. Without the ability of ice beams and some other gadgets of old. We now see ice tipped missiles an added treat. So if your in need of a new platformer and need something to do for a weekend (game is only about 10 hrs or less). Then pick this wonderful though short title up.

Not quite Super Metroid, but again, it's on GBA. I wish it was harder. It seems like they made it for little kids, telling you when there is a secret missile pack and such.
Oh well, good enough for me to buy :) If only Nintendo would realize that side scrollers are still fun, and that they should make more for the Game Cube.Was this review helpful? Yes - NoEXCELLENT
THIS GAME WAS GREAT ALL THE WAY THROUGH. THE GRAPHICS WERE CRISP AND BRIGHT. THE STORYLINE KEPT ME INTRIQUED AND INTERESTED. THE CONTROL WAS GREAT AND VERY RESPONSIVE AND A BLAST DO PALY AGAIN. IF THEY MAKE A PART 2 HOPEFULLY IT WILL HAVE THE SAME ELEMENTS THIS ONE HAD.

This game is amazing! If you are a fan of the original Metroid games, then you MUST get Metroid Fusion. It is a wonderful continuation of the series. If you haven't ever played a Metroid game before, then this is a great game to start with, as it isn't quite as difficult as Super Metroid for the SNES.
