Pros: Decent graphics, interesting story
Cons: You don't get to play the game!
You literally spend more time watching animations related to this game than actually playing the game. Of the approximately 10-15 hours it took to beat this game, probably about 7 to 8 hours of that was spent watching the story line animations. When it ended, I was still wondering when I'd actually get to play the game. Not too fun and certainly not worth paying full price for.

This is the best ps2 game. If you do buy it buy Subtance, becouse it adds more playtime with mini games.

Excelent graphics, sound, control and animations, medium-good camera, fun factor 4.5. Good history and walk throught the game, but it (overall) doesn't satisfy the exigent players, which accompany the series. You change your character in the game early, getting a "unhero" Raiden.

This game really had me busy for a while, untill i beat it once and notice how easy it was, the only bad thing about this game is that they talk too much, and you dont do that much, they should have made the talking while waking, that way we clould have enjoy it more. Its really good about the chocking soldiers and freezing them, overall this game is great and i recomend it, its fun too.

Overall it is a great game. But, they went too far with hours of cinema. That is the only major problem in the game. Also, the story is great. It is really confusing but if you play it more than once you might get the story. Also is is a good idea to play the preivous games first.

This game TOTALLY exceeded every expectation I ever had. Awesome graphics, a down-to-earth plot, and characters that can actually be related to real covert-ops teams. Absolutely awesome, from the roller-coaster like plot, to the evasive manner in which you move about, to the sometimes explosive combat, and unscripted fire-fights. SCiFi style bosses (but people none the less,) and a myriad of ways to evade, confuse, attack, or disarm guards. Overall, absolutely awesome game, if you want a shooter, that isnt just shooting but where you can also evade instead of shoot, this is the perfect game for you; stunning graphics, realistic plot, and one of, if not the best, games I have ever played for PS2, or have ever played period.

Ive played this game all the way through. I loved Metal Gear Solid and people may scoff but MGS 1 is more fun than this game. Snake is awesome, even with a mullet (I guess), but Raiden who the hell came up with this pie boy. He fights ! He shoots! and he also has an insecure relationship with his insecure girlfriend and You get to learn all about it!!! No time to do battle with bosses and take out the bad guy in this game, because you get to spend most of your time trying understand and cope with your crazed girlfriend,, who turns out to be a spy, Colonel turns out to be a robot, the game hints that you exist in a world much like the matrix or does it? maybe shes a robot too!! Game suffers from too much talk (talk that doesnt even add to the plot) not enough action. Colonel a robot, my ass!! Snake saved him from the clutches of big boss in Metal Gear 2.
The game tries to push the envelope of gaming on too many levels, so many in fact the fun factor dies, and your left pulling out NES Metal Gear, or PSX Metal Gear Solid so that you can actually run around and shoot things again. but yes it looks and sounds brilliantWas this review helpful? The action in this game is great, same with graphics, so despite my complaints, this game is worth playing, no doubt. Having said that, you must prepare yourself for the most annoying, convoluted mess of a story ever seen in a video game. Enjoy!

The characters: I found the characters to be one of the most annoying things about the game. The voices are all soft and way over acted, no realism whatsoever.
The action: The controls and movement of the characters are very cool but I found the weapons and interaction to be lame. A tranquilizer gun?? Come on!!

now this is a game for actually real gamers who know whats going on and by the way you people who think Raiden sucks why don't you go over to Iraq by yourself capture Saddam Huessien and maybe some of his people and come back here in ONE piece go try that then then we'll see who sucks. Raiden is the man and so is Snake they're like blood brothers to me go back to pong or paperboy or something and leave the neck snapping, blood trailing, stealth maneuvering, cold-blooded killing to us professionals
