This movie had me in tears, as my heart kept pounding. I love it as much as the book, added it to my DVD collection.

I thought it was such a beautiful movie until a few minutes to the end. The ending doesn't have to be twisted that way and it doesn't make sense. It would have been a beautiful romantic movie had it not been for the ending. Almost every aspect of this movie was nicely done, the way the light was shining on her face, the beatiful scenes and above all, Costner, Penn, and Newman did a wonderfu job.

The first thing I noticed about Mesenger is it`s 2 and 20 minute length. Did someone forget to hire an editor??? It simple story goes on and on and on. Once an hour into the film I keep wondering what was going to happen for another hour and twenty minutes.. Nothing did...
The characters are so boring and uninteresting. Costner should stick to baseball movies since he isn`t quite as wooden as a baseball bat but pretty close.
DId somebody decide to make a tear-jerky??? Was it tagged on for sympathy...I wasn`t touched...

I thought this was a very good movie. I think that this MUSEUM1 fella is nothing but a Costner basher because he is jealous. MUSEUM1, if you hate him and his movies so bad, why have you reviewed & watched most of them then? It is sad to know there are people out there like you that just don't get what a movie is trying to say to you. Maybe that is the reason you are so angry and ready to tear down a great actors movies all the time? I hope someday you will realize how wrong you really are? You sure keep watching his movies obviously, making him even more money? Keep it up Mr. Museum and you will just keep making him more and more money so he can make more movies and we can enjoy them. Then you can go waste your money watching what you call horrid movies and give your little (I HATE KEVIN COSTER) spiel over and over. If you don't like something, quit buying it you dork.

What can we learn about our relationships from a movie like this? Don't keep your feelings bottled up? If the actor had survived the incedent at sea, we could have had such a positive ending. The ending turned out to be only slighly more positive than that of Romeo and Juliette. How can one have such a loving relationship? Perhaps by placing that relationship above all else including work and religion.

BORING!!! She should have had an affair with Paul Newman...He would have been fun. Even though I hate it when they pair young women with older men...the twist in the story would have made it not quite as BORING!!!

I really don't like how it ended. If I was the director, I would make Garret was still in love with his wife Catherine, Theresa went back to Chicago. The only thing I agree with the movie is the father and son relationship between Garret and Dodge.

I must of watched this movie more then 10 times...To be able to relate to the love this man had for his wife is just heart gripping.This movie took my heart,shook it around ,and left me feeling confussed and in need,for a love just as powerful and true.....I think I have found that love......

I RECENTLY WATCHED MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE AND I WAS AMAZED HOW MUCH I ENJOYED IT ESPECIALLY FOR ROBIN WRIGHT PENN. THE MOVIE DOES HAVE IT'S FLAWS AND SOME PEOPLE MIGHT FIND IT SLOW, BUT THE CORE OF THE MOVIE WAS ROBIN WRIGHT. TO ME, SHE CARRIED THE MOVIE AND IT WAS LITTLE MOMENTS FOR ME THAT TRULY TOUCHED ME.

This movie was an all time hit. It shows that Love is possible in the most far away places. Loving at least once if not twice and then losing it ... is better than never experiencing it. Gives hope that there is such a love for all people and to never give up the search.

I saw the movie first, and then I read the book. I thought the movie was much better, and I've watched it about five times and I cry every time I watch it!!

The ending may have been sad but when a movie can touch every emotion, it mirrors life completely within a two-two& 1/2 hour time period. There are no guarantees and no promises that we can depend on, only the moment that is called now...and unfortunately there are so many people trying to build something better and stronger and bigger that they forget to enjoy the process of now, this moment.
