    i heard an advance copy and i think this record is gonna freak a lot of people out. billy is playing well, but the production and songwriting borrows a lot from current "modern rock" records in a lot of places. i'll love 'em till the day i die, but i... sure wish they'd record an album of technology-free, 3-guys-in-a-room styled boogie/rock record.     Keeping up with time but also staying true to their music. It is still the Blues with the bottom end of the times. If you like the blues,the bass, and the newer spanish influence of the music today, this is the one for you.

    Growing up in Texas and a fan of ZZ Top since the 70's, I must say that I'm impressed. This CD rocks. The first thing I noticed was that the band is still relevant and in rare form. Loud, crunching guitars on a blues-based rock recording. You... can imagine these songs playing in a dive bar in Memphis or a swanky strip club in Houston. Nothing wrong with this one. Any true fan has to have it. For all you ripping this CD, go listen to "Rough Boys" and shut the hell up. Probably the same people that couldn't stand it when Metallica "grew up". Read more Less

    The boys are back to their old hijinx in the studio. No over-production and drum machines. This one will please the old-school ZZ fans. Keep it up fellas!!!

    What once was a great band has now been reduced to putting out crap like this. I understand exploring, being creative and trying change but this is so bad and an insult to true ZZ fans. I tell you this from a true Texan who grew up on ZZ Top. As s...aid from others, stay with the old stuff. Eliminator was the turning point. Read more Less

    Great sound and lyrics, but it sounds like these are leftovers from Eliminator. But, that's not always bad. You know what you're going to get with these guys. Rock on!

    At least there is one band still having fun!!! I applaud the boys from texas for moving ahead with their funky folk lore. Keeping the spirit of freedom at lightning speed wide open.....
