Pros: Grinds whole bean coffee

Cons: Brew basket lid breaks easily

I have loved my coffee maker for 5 years now. However, early on the brew basket lid broke. I am so tired of having to put a heavy object on top of the lid so it will stay shut and grind and brew. This looks very tacky. I could not for the life of me figure out how this happened, it occured when my son and daughter-in-law were house sitting. Now I see this is a regular occurence. As much as I love this maker I may have to go for another brand now. I'm replacing it only because of the broken lid. Since, this seems to be a problem with this maker, I think I'll try another one. Too bad, other than that little problem, this is a great maker.

Pros: You can use whole bean or turn the mill off and use ground coffee

Cons: Take a the time to place the basket in correctly or you can break the latch on lid.

My husband love this coffee maker because it brews great coffee. You can use whole bean or ground coffee, you can turn the mill off. This is our second one because we break the latch on the lid .
We finally found our second one at Outlet mall at a Kitchen shop for around $50.00. We had this one for four years and still works great.

Pros: love the different settings for grinding

Cons: doesn't stay on long enough

I have bought several other coffee makers/grinders and this one has beat them all! Love the timer setting- I like strong coffee, my husband likes his a little weaker- overall a great buy for the price

Bad Quality

Cons: Very Bad Quality & Support

Worked fine for a few months, then filter started falling apart and company wouldn't replace it. Now it also leaks. Will be tring the Mr. Coffee. Buy with caution.

Love this Coffee Maker

Cons: latch very flimsy and breaks

For this price it is a very good coffee maker. I do have to admit that the latching lid is flimsy and broke. I did call the manufature and they DID have the replacement part. I was torn on whether I should have thrown this away and get another one. But looking around I decided to fork over the 18.00 for the part. I do enjoy all the feature and had the maker for over 3 years before it broke. The no longer make this model and I am actually thinking of trying to find another as a back up. :)

Cons: parts break and are not replaceable

I am appalled that parts are no longer available for this item. I have one, I have loved it but the locking mechanism breaks and I now have to tape it shut since I can no longer buy a new lid!!!

Pros: Great Coffee, Great Price

Cons: Coffee isnt hot enough

I have found I have to fill coffee maker with hot water so that it will brew a hot cup of coffee. Then the warming plate shuts off in what seems to me to be a very short time. So I then have to set it to brew without grinding, to turn the warming plate back on. Other than that, its a GREAT machine, no other problems. I am hoping its just a fluke, and am going to try buying another one and keep this for back up. If it does the same thing, I will repost. Its about 2 years old, but I dont remember it ever brewing very hot coffee. Even visitors have commented on it not being hot.

Great coffee maker

Pros: Grinds the coffee and makes a great pot of coffee

Cons: Short holding time - 1 hr. too short!

This coffeemaker makes a great pot of coffee and is pretty easy to clean - especially compared to how difficult it is to "clean out/empty" the individual coffee grinder in the separate units.

I cut back on the amount of coffee - use 3 coffee measures (not the one that comes with this coffee maker) and that is very flavorful for the 10 cup amount (full). The instructions call for more but our tastes were satisfied with less.

It's a little tricky to assemble the filter/mill holding compartment the first few times but with practice and paying attention - works great. I also called customer service to solve a small problem and they were most helpful.

Melitta needs to make the auto turn off time at least 2 hours. I think they make it short to make sure the flavor holds up - and the coffee is quite flavorful. I replaced a Bunn coffee maker (to get the auto turn off and grind feature) and I thought it made a great cup - this is better. The mill and grind feature is much better than the more expensive Cuisinart - bought one of those and sent it back!
Good price, too.

Great Coffee Maker

Cons: It's a little tempermental

I have owned my Grind & Brew for around five years and it has been well worth the purchase price. Compared to the Toshiba that cost almost twice as much, it has proven to be a superior machine. It makes an excellent cup of coffee and is very well designed. I replaced the brew basket after about three years and with the Toshiba the brew basket only lasted about a year. The only issue that I've had with it is at times it is rather tempermental, closing the lid and getting it to work, due to the fact that at times the basket isn't setting exactly in the right place to get the switch to work. Every once in a while I have to take the basket out, turn the mill blade and put the basket back in to get it to work. But, then I've been using it for around five years. This morning something broke on the latch that holds the lid closed, so I guess it's time to get a new one.

Better than Cuisenart

Pros: can adjust coffee grind for weaker or stronger brew

Cons: basket an be a bit difficult to settle properly - minor

I have used my Mill and brew for over five years and have been completely satisfied. A friend of mine bought the Cusinart grind and brew and prefers my coffee over what he can make. There is no strength adjustment with the Cusinart.

Parts Are Available to repair this coffee maker.

Pros: Gormet coffee. No need to pay Starbucks prices.

Cons: Plastic latch breaks

Do not throw this coffee maker away just because the plastic latch or somether thingy broke. Parts are available to fix these machines. I found a guy that has been selling parts and fixing these machines for years.
He is a great source of advise
on how to repair these machines too.
He is a great guy too and very friendly. I looked up his feedback on Ebay and he has 100 percent feedback in over 300 transactions.
Sounds like an honest guy to me.

Pros: Easy to clean and coffee takes great

Cons: auto shut off after 1 hour, to soon

Very well designed Coffee maker and Grinder in one. Up side of this coffee maker is the ease in cleaning the build in filter with the grinding blade. I've owned a Cuisinart with build in grinder and spent most of my time cleaning all the different chambers, more of a hassle than it was worth. This Melitta Mill & Brew is fabulous to clean and use. Down side is timer only last an hour then turns self off. But well worth the taste of the coffee and convenience. I give this a five star rating all the way.

This is the best coffee maker on the market. Coffee is always fresh ground. I am buying another in case they discontinue the model! Can't live without it!

The BEST coffee maker I have ever owned! I bought one for my dad, one for the office, and another at home for back up in fear they disconue.
You can't go wrong with the world's best coffee make for the $. Too bad it is out of stock on 2 different websites.(as of 2/3/06 )
