    good but failure-prone

    Pros: fast and convenient way to make single cup of coffee

    Cons: low quality

    I really like this coffee maker, but it's cheap because it's made cheap. The first one stopped working within the first year and Melitta replaced it, and now the second unit has failed (doesn't heat the water). The mugs are cheap and fall... apart. The carafe lid appears fragile, though I haven't used it enough to break it. The spout used to distribute coffee to two mugs is fragile and broke when I removed it to clean it. Melitta also replaced it. I understand they don't make this coffeemaker anymore -- understandable because the thing just isn't built well Read more Less

    Pros: convienient

    Cons: doest split into two mugs evenly, and more

    The brochure says that the mugs are dishwasher safe. but after one time in the dishwasher, the lids dont fit properly. They pop up, so that when you take a drink, you wear your coffee too. It is supposed to split into two cups, and it puts more into ...one cup than the other. And sometimes waters down one mug or the other. This is a convienient machine, but it has its faults.     Pros: Like the 2 cup version

    Cons: Don't always split to 2 cups

    Love the machine. Quick and easy to use. Makes good coffee. Would recommend this machine to any one. As a matter of fact my son in law also bought one now.

    Pros: Convenience, price, coffee taste & temp, ease of use & upkeep

    Cons: Cannot vary brew strength among two cups, lids are lower quality than most

    I purchased this machine because hubby and I like our coffee 180 degrees differently - he likes light brown water and I like mine strong enough to knock a platoon of Marines on their sixes. It's also nice to have one piping-hot freshly-brewed cup... at a time. This Melitta goes above and beyond our needs, especially for the price. It's a shame they don't make this machine double-chambered so the consumer can make two cups of different strengths; but these days, who makes such a bargain? I haven't noticed much variance of coffee levels when brewing two at a time, but we rarely make but one cup per brew. The mug lids are indeed rather low by Melitta standards, but we simply use other travel mugs to fix that. I too recommend hand washing them. Overall, this coffeemaker is a terrific buy; I recommend it quite often to others. Thanks, Melitta! Read more Less

    Pros: Easy to use, great value, brews the coffee quickly

    Cons: One of the gaskets fell off after washing the dishwasher

    I've had my Melitta ME2TMB for about 3-4 years now and it's still working great! I found the same problem where the lids did not fit properly after washing in the dishwasher, but, after continued use and hand washing, they fit perfectly.     Keep it on the Level

    Pros: Fast for personal use

    Cons: small batches and uneven between two cups

    I received the coffee maker from my father along with some quality coffee and a grinder. He turned me onto GOOD coffee. The VFilter does a great job at making good coffee, and i will NOT buy another coffee maker unless the filter is a V shape (#2 or ...4).The cups has its problems, but the main item, if your EVER going to try to make two cups at once, the maker MUST be on a LEVEL surface!! Otherwise one cup will get more coffee then the other. I have since moved on to a 12 cup brewer, because with good tasting coffee, my wife is now drinking it. Read more Less

    Pros: Fast, grab and go

    Cons: Mugs are bad,

    I love this machine. I use it everyday for about 3 years now. The mugs are bad, but I have replaced them with good ones. so it is all good now.
