Mech Platoon Game Boy Advance

Mech Platoon brings the real-time strategy genre, so popular on the PC, to Nintendo's handheld. Three disparate factions, the Leon, Minos, and Trampler, are embroiled in a conflict over three universally sought after resources: Material Rock, Laser Crystal, and Energy Sand. Throughout the single-player mode's 30 missions, you'll be required to gather the above resources to fund your war effort. Using these newly acquired raw materials you'll be able to produce buildings and robot units with which to battle. A handful of basic units are initially available, but eventually players will be able to modify the arms, body, and leg portions -- each with specific attributes -- of these units to create wholly new battle machines. During the course of battle, destroyed enemies can be salvaged for new parts, which can then be implemented in your own creations.

Before embarking on a mission, new units can be designed by using the various parts to customize the aforementioned body segments. Once designed, a handful of the units available must be chosen for use in the upcoming mission. Unlike traditional RTS titles, Mech Platoon doesn't make use of Fog of War, so the entire battlefield can be monitored at all times. Missions, which take place across five different planets, run the gamut from escort to infiltrate to all-out offensive and defensive battles. A versus mode allows you to compete with friends, providing that each player has a copy of the game.
