    I have to say, that I hate country. But, once I heard the Dixie Chicks, I love it. I own both of the albums, wide open spaces, and fly. They are very highly thought of girls in my mind.     Just an addition to the first reply. If you listen to the lyrics you will see that Wanda tried the other means to get away from Earl, "but Earl walked right through that restraining order and put her in intensive care." If he had stayed on his own ...side of the line he would have been safe. Personally I agree with Rodney Crowell (another artist I'm sure you will want to keep you children away from) "A man who hits a woman isn't worth a dime." Besides, when did the Dixie Chicks ever claim to be nice Southern girls? Didn't they originally want to title Fly Sin Wagon? Read more Less

    Some poor guy named Earl....maybe you didn't listen to the lyrics...Earl was a wife beater. I'm not saying that someone who beats his wife necessarily deserves to die, but I wouldn't be saying poor Earl.

    I am writing this review in protest of the dixie chicks. These so called "innocent" southern girls are far from it. They have bad morals to go along with their evil lyrics. Has any one ever heard of Earl...yea that's what i thought. I would never... want my precious child to be listing to a nice country song about riding horses in a feild of wild flowers on a nice sunny day with a small cool breeze. Then this song comes on with it's bad bad lyrics of killing some poor guy named earl...i mean come on what's that about?? As far as i'm concerened i will never buy another dixie chicks cd again. nor will i ever support them and infact i will BURN their posters and anything to do with them in a anti-dixie chicks rage.     The Dixie Chicks are the best female country band there is. They are all about the pure, down-home, twanging sound. It is so refreshing to listen to such great music and know they are doing it for the love of music and not fame and fortune.It is gr...eat to hear there Bluegrass tunes instead of hearing the new direction a lot of country (especially women)singers are taking lately!THANKS FOR THE GREAT SOUND!
