    Masterpiece!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 14, 2002

A few of the 'B' sides on this album could have easily been No.1 Uk singles. Acquiesce is the most notable - one of my personal favourites.
Unlike some questionable groups, Noel Gallagher always strived to provide fans with decent 'B' sides on singles. This is a disappearing trend in modern day music sadly.
'Listen Up' sounds a bit like the prototype for 'Live Forever' and is excellent. 'Half the world away' is brillant as is 'The Masterplan' (even my cousin likes that one and he hates Oasis!)
For a collection of B sides you can't go wrong with this album.

Wow, another 5 star rating from lizardo_jr - can you guess they are my favourite band?!

    The Masterplan is a success

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 8, 2001

There hasn't been a band yet that has compiled a B-side album has great as Oasis has. It starts off on a pure rock song that Oasis is famous for. Slowly you can see the progression over the years through Noel's writing. This is a needed album for any rock n roll lover's stash.

    Half the world away

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 14, 2001

A very good collection of B sides. Some of these are good enough to be A sides especially the noel sung songs. Half the world away is used as the theme tune for bbc sitcom the royle family and Noel describes the title track as his finest piece of work. Definitely worth buying. It is the 3rd best oasis album behind those first two.

    Amazing!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 3, 2001

    This is a great album.

This proves the Oasis is the best rock band in the world...

reason: the fact that Noel G can write amazing songs like these and not put them on as A sides-- boggles my mind.

Fade Away, Talk Tonight, Stay Young, Headshrinker, I Am the Walrus = AMazing!

THE GREATEST= Rockin' Chair, Acquiesce and OF COURSE- The Masterplan.

this is a great CD to listen to.

Unlike my likings this album is not coherent. But it's great sutff. Simply because it shows what a great band is made of: the disposable material which is here part of a "no more place for good things". This can surely be a "The best of" I've ever listened to.

    Wonderfully complete spectrum of Oasis

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 8, 2000

Masterplan is an excellent album for the long time Oasis fan to the newbies who have yet to discover the talented creations of Noel Gallagher. I've had friends become instant Oasis fans after hearing some of the songs on this album and asking who it was.

The album highlights include the title song 'Masterplan' as well as Underneath the Sky, Acquience, Rocking Chair, and track 4 (the song title escapes me now).

This is a rich and complete album excellent for any fan of Oasis or British rock.

    Surprisingly perfect

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 15, 2000

I listen to this album perhaps more than any other Oasis one. I think it because, unlike Be Here Now, I wasnt expecting much, and also B-sides allow Noel to maybe experiment or let his heart out. The results are wicked- the soaring Acquiesce, the punkish clatter of Fade Away, and the R.E.M.-ish Rockin Chair. If this was a proper album it would be acclaimed to the max. Get it.

Can this group get any better

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 31, 2000

I wonder how the hellthese songs can only be b-sides. If they were all singles i guarantee they would all get to number one and stay there for a t least 3 weeks. Some classic and mind blowing songs, shows both sides of Oasis. The Madferrit side with songs like The Swamp Song, Hey Stay Young and I am the Walrus, to more meaningful ones like Talk Tonight and The Masterplan. To those in between like Going nowhere and that almighty classic, Half The World Away. Other bands would kill to have any of theses songs for A- sides, and it just shows haw much effort Noel puts in to make every song special, brilliant and original. This band is really a people band, and make music for all and at a vey very high standard aswell. This Band is top man, absoloutley brilliant live anall, and really will always be known as The Best Band In The World

one of my most played albums!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 21, 2000

i wonder why noel happened to release all these remarkable songs as b-sides and not a-sides
    they are great songs
    all of them
from the very first one aqueisce, and going through the rest of the tracks including underneath the sky, going nowhere, half the world away, fade away, listen up, rocking chair, the masterplan, stay young, it's good to be free, and the cover of beatles' i am the walrus, it's no wonder why oasis are the best band in the world today
no other band of the nineties has produced such extraordinary collection of hits as a b-side compilation. not even the beatles
    oasis..live forever
    noel you are the king!
    you...buy it now!!

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 16, 2000

To blur, the beatles, whoever! This is a different type of music. Name one oasis song that sounds like blur, and although beatles influences are taken, these are not wholesale changes. Anyway, the highlight of this album is the masterplan, which is one of the greatest lyrical journeys ever.
