Awesome storyline

Pros: Great story, amazing graphics, you get to save the universe

Cons: Game can progress slowly at points

Mass Effect has created an entire galaxy of things to discover as you go on a mission to stop the inevitable destruction of mankind.

Pros: Graphics(most of the time),Speech System(Concept)

Cons: Almost everything,gameplay,frame
rate,boring combat/enemies

This is the game I had waited over 2 years for. I was most excited about this game.Let that be clear. I am not bashing it to bash it, I am criticizing it because it deserves much criticism.

People have trouble seeing reality when the Hype Haze has set in.They get sooo excited to the point the game could be a donkey trying to climb a cliff and they would be like "oooo ahhh awesome,amazing,revolutio
nary!"

This game is a huge disappointment for me. Forgive me for holding them accountable,I paid $65 for it,I wish I hadn't. I was incredibly surprised this game turned out to perform so poorly.

This game is made by BioWare,the developers of KOTOR,it was going to be an Action RPG set in the future. Fresh from the amazing game Oblivion;I figured, "wow a total spin by an awesome developer(over 3 years in the making),no way can it not live up to the hype." Boy was I wrong.

Pausing the Rant:
Gameplay-this is what destroys the game. The navigation system is mediocre at best, the weapons SUCK.You're over 100 years in the future, with ancient advanced Alien technology, and you're stuck with these short ranged weapons!?WTF!? The driving system is abominable. You will wind up fighting the controls rather than letting them flow as they should.The enemies are incredibly lame as well.Oooo fight the robots!

The Worlds to "explore" SUCK!!!!I was so excited about exploring the Milky Way.Boy,theres nothing to find! There are only a few planets with anything,most of them are completely BARREN AND BORING,theres nothing to see. It is incredibly lame. I'd rather they just leave 2 or 3 worlds with a ton of places to explore,things to find,etc than this over expanded "galaxy." This really ruins the game as well. You can't even go to the futuristic Earth!!!

***YOU CAN'T KILL "FRIENDLIES"***
*-this is garbage. In Oblivion,I could kill anyone I desired to. This game does not permit on to do such a thing. It restricts your options and greatly reduces the RPG element. It becomes a stupid action game at this point.

The only good things about this game is the concept. Future developers will get all this stuff right (hopefully). The speech system, the graphics,etc. That's it, all glamor, no substance.If you don't desire a real game,get this one.

This is a joke. Once again,I wanted this game to be awesome just as much as the fools that are saying it's the greatest;but,I will call it as it is. The developers WILL NOT IMPROVE THEIR GAMES (much,if at all) if everyone tells them they love games that are in reality garbage. Call them out, they'll make better games.Don't be a sucker caught in the hype of this game.It is a waste of time, with NO REPLAY VALUE.

Very Pretty Game

Pros: Great Graphics, great story line, VERY addicting

Cons: Lackluster driving is easily looked past

I just quit smoking, so I gave up one addiction for another.

Mass Effect is a great game and if you liked Knights of the Old Republic you will like this for sure. Comparing the two, Mass Effect has better graphics and i'd say an equal story line so far. KOTOR had more weapons types and more upgrades. Pretty similar games. Mass Effect has so many planets and sectors its rediculous. You could spend weeks exploring everything this game has to offer. A must buy.
