The first breakthrough!
Pros: Beautiful music and mature lyrics.
Cons: A couple of duds trip up the flow.
This album starts off on the right foot with the smash first single/collaboration with Lauryn Hill, "All that I can say". However, that tune is follwed by a less than specatular song titled "sexy", which is a cover of Michael Jackson's "I can't help it". But don't be discouraged, Mary imediately redeems herself with the second hit single "Deep inside", which samples Sir Elton John's "Bennie and the jets" and an awesome, unreleased track titled, "Beautiful ones". Mary J. Blige really matures in this album and displays her growth as a true artist, worthy of many accolades and awards.

Cons: She is the Queen... beautifull and mean...
KArlin done so beautifull vocal arrangements on this record - Soulshock is the music and beatmaster.
Yo´its the glow again.. that make will make this record in the future can win a grammy.

I've just popped this album back into my player and had to give honor where honor is due. Share my world was just the beginning to this follow up Album simply and again eloquently entitled MARY... I'm proud to say that this album still ranks in my Top 10 of all time favorites of the CENTURY....Sister Girl evolved from finding her way to a full Fledge Woman and Diva With this album, Toast to ya Mary.

Mary is one of my ladies, she is a strong diva.
She knows what life is about.
Mary gots the voice the beats, the beauty basically she gots everything to put it that way!

I am so tired of hearing people say that Mary ain't it? Mary is in a class alllll by herself and people who don't really listen to her music don't understand that. They don't feel her so they just say "Oh she ain't good" PLEASE!! Girl is the man! That's all. You just don't understand. Better yet, don't worry about it, that's grown folks music. This really is her best album yet. She has blown up and on top now. I love her music. Try lookin at real life and you'll love it too. Only the G's know this.

What can you say to a person that speaks about life situation that everyone goes through, every song in the album either someone is going through it or has been through it her able is so genuine unlike she . I think the reason why her album is so tight is because everyone can relate and when you are that much in touch with society that means your heaven sent. No one can not say that mary deserves more than 5 star I'll give her my star award which is **********. You go girl cant wait to hear your next album.Hope to see you in concert again (austin,Tx)

to get to the point, this is by a significant margin mary j's worst album. maybe i'd give it a 2.5, but a three would imply that i was not major disappointed with it. of course, "all that i can say" was the bomb, along with "your child". i like the song with k-ci. but the song with aretha should've been on her album, she dominates it so and flat out sings so much better than mary j. i am tired of hearing mary strain to hit notes she doesn't have, whether it be just live (as it used to be) or on record. besides the songs i've named, there is simply not much that i like, and the deterioration of her voice (or her producer's insistence on putting her in vocal positions she can't attain) really takes away. she is featured on a lil kim song that she struggles with massively also. she has fallen a long way from the 411 album and the my life album, which were two of the top 10 albums of the ninety's in my book. even share my world was tight, though not as good as the first two. share my world was still at least twice as good as this one in my book. based on that math, and giving her first two a five, i give share my world a 4 and give this one a two. i guess maybe i miss the old mary, but she's getting older and isn't that young energetic little cutie i used to love so much. still, i love mary always and hope that she stops using all these different producers who come up with all these different songs til the point where this album lacked direction. what happened to the days of jimmy jam and terry lewis, babyface and l.a. and others who headed up an artist's entire project and gave the album a sound and character. this album is too eclectic, too all over the place sound and themewise. 411 and my life had that, despite the heavy reliance on samples (transl.-puff and mary and chucky thompson did their back then) they might need to do it again to get me to spend more than 6 dollars on this cd in a used cd store. i wouldn't write so much except that i want to see mary do well so bad. and despite my disdain for the album, i guess she's doing that anyway....

I've enjoyed Mary's album every since I heard her song Give Me You.Now thats a song that will really get you thinking.
Some of you may not think that but I do cause I want somebody to give me them.

This is Mary's best release ever. She is so talented. I love this CD from the first joint to the last. My favorite one is "I'm In Love". Do your thang Mary!!! Everyone should go out and buy this one!

This album was truly worth being called by her name. Only an extraordinary woman with a great voice could name their album after themselves and Mary picked a great one to name after her. She jumped the fences by leaps and bounds. All I can say is WOW! This album will be in my rotation for years to come. If you are reading this review and don't have the album, "What are you waiting for?" Get a copy and let see how your copy relates to "Mary".

I think Mary J. Blige is very talented and I think she really awsome. The only song that I have heard of her new album is Give me you, and I think that is an excellent song. She really knows the business. She knows how life really is.I just think she's really really good.

Every since Mary's debut I knew she had a talent. Her talent is that she makes you feel what she is singing about, and she always comes out with some hot tracks. I look up to Mary because through the good and bad times she has still held her head up and continue to write the best music. She is truly talented and everytime I am feeling down I can always pick up one of my Mary cd's and expect for it to help me through whatever problem I am having. She is a great person, a teriffic singer, and a great role model. All I have to say is keep on keeping on, and let no man, or woman stop you from doing yo thang.
