Pros: musical score and cast

Mary Poppins was a great movie from the very start. I remember going to the first movie premiere where the audience was jam packed and the feeling of awe and wonder could be cut with a knife. Julie's singing was defintely the real star of this movie, but it was equally matched by the entire cast, as well as the movie's special effects. When they labled this one the "crowning glory of Walt Disney", they were not joking. As a matter of fact, just about everything Walt had learned as an artist, screen producer, and magical pioneer were all featured in this movie one way or another. The dvd only serves to showcase the movie's glory, and does so rightly. I especially like the song with lyrics and the quick rundown on the playlist. An additional comment is that this movie really projects the superb craftsmanship that produces excellant storytelling momentum, even on a fictional scale such as this.

Mary Poppins is a great family movie. I kept watching it over and over again (I'm 14) and I thought that it's a great movie so I memorized the lines! :-D

I have an Long Play disc but it is not the original singers. I also have the music from Disney compact discs. I had watched the movie from the telecast on television on a few times that enthralled me to purchase the movie on dvd. I love all the songs being played especially on "I loved to laugh" where this scene has tea on the roof.

This is the most delighted and magical film that also shows the importance of family value and broadens our imagination. It is both entertaining yet educational. The music, songs, and all the dance sequeces are all very fascinating!! I enjoy it very much!

mary poppins has been so wonderful, havent watched the movie in ages - since i was 4 and really would love to get it and show it to my children 9 when i have kids). maybe they will enjoy this super movie as much as i did!!:)

I never got to see this film as a child. As an adult, I was absolutely FLOORED by the long scenes (particularly the rooftop scene), excellent stories, superb direction, the outstanding music, and, of course, the dead-on acting.
When I was a boy, I had a record with the music, but didn't have any idea that the movie was so good. My two-year-old daughter absolutely LOVES singing along with Chim Chimanee and dances to Step in Time like there's no tomorrow.
It's really sad that musicals like this are not made anymore. These days, we only have violence, sex, and gore.

Gay,charming and irreverent. This film wisely warns families lacking togetherness. Take heed of the message of family love or Mary might just have to turn you around and set you right. I LOVE the way Mary makes an ass out of everyone. Gotta love this funny and heart-warming film.OHHHH!IT'S A JOLLY HOLLIDAY WITH MARY LA LA LA LA LA!!!!!

Dick Van Dyke has got to be the best Actor you will ever see He portrays the role of BERT Wonderfully and Julie Andrews is spectacular!!!!!
