By this time, Manitoba was considered the full-time lead singer (although Shernoff and Kempner sing plenty) and the band was hitting its stride. Despite a longish dud of a track that closes side one ("Disease"), Manifest Destiny shows off the Dictators' strong (and often tender) pop smarts, especially on Shernoff's "Sleepin' With the Television On" and Kempner's "Hey Boys." Also, there's a fast and furious cover of the Stooges' "Search Destroy."
