    I HAVE THIS ALBUM ON CASSETTE. I AM A MUSIC LOVER AND I CAN SAY WITH OUT DOUBT THIS IS THE BEST MUSIC IN MY COLLECTION. EVERY SONG FEATURED ON THE ALBUM IS FANTASTIC.     SAM COOKE, THE MAN AND HIS MUSIC was the definitive compilation of Sam Cooke's sounds, from his Gospel beginnings to the Pop/R&B tunes which made him one of the first "crossover" stars in modern music. The 28 songs on this singular CD offer strong s...upport that Sam Cooke possessed one of the most distinguished and eminently listenable voices in the last 50 years. It is one of those CDs which you can play the whole way through, and get something from every song.Once, standing in a bar with a friend listening to an unknown performer, Cooke is said to have remarked something to the effect: "He sounds ok when we are looking at him, but can his voice hold you when you have your back to him? That's the real test." Gone for a long time now, Cooke and his amazing voice can still grip a listener and raise them up, wherever they stand and regardless of their situation.The other compilation albums of Cooke's works are not nearly as satisfying, so it figures some fool took this one out of production.
