    Pavement... grown up

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jan 2, 2002

Like many of their indie rock parteners, Pavement also changed their direction in sound. This is the best "Change" from most any of the bands that I have heard though. Pavement deliver amazing melody and drowning guitar sounds holding influence fro...m from late 60's sound. Not quite trippy enough to be psychadelia, but close enough. This ep is really fantastic awesome dream pop and still not sell-outs.Ben.the 14 year old. Read more Less

Great for the hardcore Pavement fan

If you're not a loyal Pavement fan this is not the album for you. You may find find your self saying "what the f*** is this?" It's great to hear an early version of "Major Leagues." The songs will grow on you.

  • All Music Guide

Pavement's Major Leagues EP spotlights one of the group's softest, most sentimental songs to date, and includes six B-sides: a radio edit of "Major Leagues," covers of Echo the Bunnymen's "Killing Moon" and the Fall's "The Classical" from a 1997 BBC session, and the previously unreleased "Decouvert de Soleil," "Your Time to Change," and "Stub Your Toe," which were recorded with Pavement's original drummer, Gary Young.

Pavement, along with Sebadoh, were the leaders of the lo-fi movement which dominated U.S. indie rock in the early '90s. Initially ... Read more
