Smart and stylish series

Pros: Plots, acting and smarts

BBC has a history of creating great comedy: Absolutely Fabulous, Little Britain and The Office come to mind. However, I've never been a huge fan of British dramas such as Casualty (cheap ER rip-off). MI-5 (name of homeland security department in... the U.K.) is in a different class. The dialogues are smart, the characters are believable - they're not superheroes or martial art masters. They are insecure, they're afraid of failing and they live from paycheque to paycheque. Tom, Zoe, Harry and the rest of the crew will whisk you away and mesmerize you with their sharp minds, funny lines and before you know it, you'll be looking at ways to monitor your neighbours and bug cell phones. It's an addictive series and that can be a problem. BBC is airing Season Four in Europe and Canada just received Season Three, a whole 18 months after it aired in Britain. I'm almost done with the meagre ten episodes and I know it's going to be a difficult wait until Season Four. Pace yourself, enjoy the stunning photography and regal yourself with the twisted plots.
