Pros: Great Rhymes
Cons: Beats went to bed on this one.
This relase in 97 is different to the others. Its great with rhymes but the beats were really underground rather than playa style or Space Age. Its still got great stuff in it but it seems like they recorded this back in the 80's in thier garage.

Before Eightball MJG debuted nationally with Comin' out Hard on Suave House in 1993, the duo released a number of underground recordings, many of which were later compiled on Lyrics of a Pimp in 1997. Of particular note here is Eightball MJG's first big hit, "Listen to the Lyrics," as well as the early version of "Armed Robbery," their later hit. The sound quality here is obviously lo-fi, as independent recordings were still a rare occurrence at the time, particularly in the South, yet the historical nature of these recordings should interest die-hard fans curious about the duo's humble beginnings.
