    Lullabies to Paralyze

    Pros: guitar mastery

    Cons: no dave grohl

Queens of the Stone Age continuing their mission to save rock n roll and largely succeeding. If you still love guitar solos and killer riffs then you've come to the right place. Josh Homme is a jedi master when it comes to sweet solos and catchy ...hooks. His soothing voice blends nicely with the wall of sound that is the band. The album ranges from stick-in-your-head singles to extended jams. I highly recommend it to anybody who truly loves rock! Read more Less

    Lullabies To Paralyze

Pros: Little Sister is, maybe, the fourth best song on the CD.

Cons: Couple of weaker songs towards the end, but I'm still listening.

Highly anticipated CD is no let down. Very strong through the first 8 songs, saving for maybe the first. At 14 songs, they could have left a few off at the end and had a more consistent CD, but I commend anyone who jam's as much music as possible... onto a CD. Kind of miss Dave Grohl, but honestly, this is a great effort from QOTSA. Read more Less

This CD Is Like A Gift

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 24, 2005 | 1 out of 1 found this Lullabies To Paralyze review helpful

Pros: Classic QOTSA, Kyuss & Desert Sessions all in one!

    Cons: Nick's Madness

Warning: Within Contains No Apathy. In an era of cookie cutter bands QOTSA stands out of the pack and shines as true originals. Josh & Company cover all the bases on Lullabies. For the longtime fans there is flashes of Kyuss like simple yet elegant j...am pieces sounding familiar yet made fresh, mysterious creepy songs from the early Queens releases and balls out rock and roll from their later work. As if this wasn't enough they recut a Desert Sessions tune and other tracks have the same lurching through the tune kind of groove. Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top brings something to the party with his guest guitars and vocals. Mark Lanegan's brief contribution is hair raising. All in all a feast for any Queens fan. On a separate note I had the supreme pleasure of seeing QOTSA on 3/15/05 here in Austin on the opening night of their new tour. I can honestly say that on both the old and new songs they talked the talk and walked the walk. Rock and Roll as it is meant to be but not for the weak of heart or soul. Read more Less

QOTSA Does it again, ONLY BETTER

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 28, 2005

    Pros: Production is STELLER

Cons: Some vocals a little muddy

If you liked Songs For The Deaf you are gonna love this. Not quite has hard has SFTD, but just has or if not more heavy. Run, don't walk, to your nearest CD store and grab this while it's on sale, you'll thank me...

3.5/4 good but rolling stone was right

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Mar 27, 2005

Pros: 8 or 9 good tunes with some really good jams

Cons: couple of songs are so/so in the middle

I would recommend it for anyone who liked the last cd but it's not quite the same without the INSANE bass playing Nick Oliveri and of course Dave Grohl's drums or is it???!!

Pros: Very unique and original rock

Cons: If you can find one let me know

Just like the title describes, these "Lullabies" will paralyze you from letting you take it out of your cd player. With so many great cds from qotsa its hard to believe that they could still stay alive with so many band member changes. But ...their latest cd still keeps you hooked with their original guitar rifts and awesome vocals. This cd is for anyone who loves rock and roll! QOTSA 4EVER!!! Read more Less

Pros: Their best offering since their first!

Cons: With out Nick in the band-- it does lack a little something--

Easily one of their best albums since theyre first release-- but lacks a LITTLE something with the departure of Nick
