    IWAY 500C Works for Me

    Pros: Easy to Use, Relatively accurate

    Cons: Cannot avoid particular roads

    It's worked great at getting me where I need to go. However, it would be nice to be able to avoid certain roads. Ran into a problem w/ a football game and certain roads being closed. Kept wanting to take us there anyway. Of course, you can't ...expect it to know the roads were closed, but it would have been nice to set "avoid". (Such as mapquest.com allows.) Once it has its mind set on a certain path, there's no getting around it... even when navigating your own "trail". At least, not that I've found so far. But it's very easy to use - just close a screen when you're done w/ that part. The one other thing I don't like is when searching for "everything" by name, it pulls up stuff all across the country. I haven't yet figured out how to narrow that down to just the area I'm in. ie... Wanted to find an Olive Garden nearby, so did a name search, but came up w/ Olive Gardens everywhere! But can also search near cursor or route, so that's not really hard to get around. Suction cup for windshield holds great. Features MP3 player, too - that's pretty cool. I'm very thankful for it. Great birthday present! I'll put it up against my mom's Garmin any day! Read more Less

    Pros: Haven't found any

    Cons: Everything about it

    A lot of money for very poor performance. The data base is terrible. It has sent me on wild goose chases looking for business that moved or closed years ago, and can't find existing business that has been at the same location for years. It thinks... my home is half a block away from it's actual location. More often than not the unit tells you to turn after you already passed the street it wanted you to turn on. Lowarance wants $75 for a data base update. On top of what this unit costs, that is absolutely ridiculous. You can find a better product for less money. Read more Less
