    Prince Reaches Into His Soul And Lays It Bare

    Pros: Inspiring,Ennervating And Passionate

    Cons: BIG ONE:All 9 Cuts Are Only Playable As One Long Song

    'Lovesexy' finds Prince going through alot of changes.Two are apparent-he wanted to make an album that wasn't at all commercial and he also wanted to make it musically ambitious.Which he does alot but this more then any.As on his previous... two albums 'Lovesexy' uses alot of orchestration and each song has about five seperate musical ideas rolled into one.For a man who once said it's time for jazz to die this album is more then a little jazzy.Especially "Eye Know".The one song that was a (deserved) was the fun pop ditty "Alphabet St"-"Glam Slam" and the title song are close seconds but all resemble his music with the Revolution more then anything."Dance On" is a great funk jam for the drum lover while "I Wish You Heaven" and "Positivity" carry the albums spiritual theme well.This is not the shameless,foul mouthed Prince of yore-his high profile sexuality is designed to prove a point on these songs.That being Prince likens sex to the soul and vice versa.However you take it (and if you can listen TO ONE 45 PLUS MINUTE TRACK) 'Lovesexy' is pretty impressive!   • All Music Guide

    Lovesexy was a better album, anyway. It's not perfect, but it does find Prince attempting to make clear his philosophy, which likens sex to godliness and vice versa. It doesn't fully convince, but "Anna Stasia" and "I Wish U Heaven" should keep you interested.
