    Pros: amazing song writing talent

    Cons: None

Sugarland's LOVE ON THE INSIDE album is by far the best of their 3 albums. They are able to showcase their incredible talent from track 1 to track 12 (or track 15 if you have the deluxe edition). Each song is different from the last, one of the s...trong points of the CD. From Jennifer Nettles powerful twang vocals to Kristian Bush's talented guitar skills the duo contiunes to impress and improve on their previous efforts. Sugarland has quiet the future in store if they continue to write music like the songs on this album. 1. All I Want To Do-simply put FUN. It catches your attention and won't leave your head. A true ear worm that proves different from any other song. 2. It Happens-Another fun life story about how things go from bad to worse. They always make it seem like things will be ok. Watch out for the little play on words here. 3. We Run-Young love and how it hits you. Never before has doing something you know you shouldn't do sound so much fun. 4. Joey-A tear jerker. We all face the what if's in life. Something we can all connect to. 5. Love-Stunning. This rock ballod shows a the side of Sugarland that has great writing skills and the beauty in this duo as they wonderfully comploment each other. 6. Genevieve-This metaphoric song has wonderous qualities as the two sing harmoniously for almost the entire song. 7. Already Gone-A true masterpiece. How so many will be able to connect to this song shows what makes music so great. Once again they have true talent in their vocals as they work together to tell a tender love story without making it all sappy. 8. Keep You-This sad acoustic song will make anyone think. The deep passonate lyrics make this song that much more intriguing and moving. 9. Take Me As I Am-This rockish song combines the country of Sugarland and their love for Rock into one great song that has such an important message to it. Once again the lyrics make this song as great as it is. 10. What I'd Give-Every man will wish to be next to Jennifer Nettles in this song as she sings about her love for a man and what she would do for him. The instrumental ending is just as amazing as the lyrics. 11. Steve Earle-Simply put Funny as Hell. 12.The Very Las Country Song-Every country hater needs to hear this song as it is the perfect closer to the album. One of the strongest from the album. Pro Reviews: Love on the Inside

Georgia's charttopping contemporary countryrock act Sugarland hit pay dirt on their first two albums their Twice the Speed of Life debut and sophomore Enjoy the Ride sold over two million copies apiece. The duo of Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles initially had their roots in the Georgia altrock scene and connected with the more rockist sounds of 21st century country. Scoring hit single and after hit single, the songwriting duo became a topselling concert draw, but in the pressure and hustle Bush and Nettles became somewhat unsatisfied with their writing and recording processes. For Love on the Inside, they flexed some hardwon industry muscle and successfully lobbied Mercury to let them coproduce their own record (with Byron Gallimore) and record in Georgia instead of Music City. The result is the most organic of Sugarland's three albums. Cut live from the floor, Bush and Nettles' vocals were tracked in the midst of a band playing around them with few overdubs. Repeated takes yielded... performancequality vocals and very naturalsounding guitars, B3s, mandolins, pianos, and drums (from Matt Chamberlain no less). The songs here are entire levels above anything they've written. Love on the Inside is an albumlength reflection on love in its many forms from new love to grief, betrayal, regret, loss, and rediscovery. There's plenty of the personal in this set Nettles went through a divorce during its creation (check "It Happens," "Keep You," and "Take Me as I Am"). it. It is followed by "Joey," a song about a lost love that's too late to resurrect the bereft and abandoned and once Beloved is no longer on the planet. The emotion in Nettles' voice especially as it is buoyed by Bush's in the refrain and the wideopen ringing guitars and mandolins is devastating. The trilogy ends with the magnificently poetic "Love." It commences with acoustic and electric guitars and Nettles asking questions as to the nature of our most mysterious emotion. Her lyrics are transcendent, profound. With a guitar riff worthy of U2 at their most anthemic, she asks, "Is it the one you call home?/Is it the Holy Land?/Is it standing right here, holding your hand...?/I say it's Love." When Bush enters with his deepest growl to underscore her every line, you'd have to have sawdust for blood not to be deeply, authentically moved. It seems to say, no matter whatever else it is, love is redemption. "Genevieve" is a romantic country gospel tune reminiscent of "Long Black Veil." There is also humor in the sideways tribute "Steve Earle," with its tongue firmly in cheek but devoid of simple novelty Nettles' smile has a trace of the shadow as well. While this set is saturated with hunger and ambition, it's also confident and sophisticated the album sounds as if they meant every word but had a great time making it. They prove they were always meant to be a live act whether in the studio or on a concert stage. - Thom Jurek, All Music Guide Read more Less
