Pros: WOW !! -- Probably his best album

Cons: First album in four years --- there should be more songs

I recently was priviledged to listen to Babyface's newest album. His finest piece as of yet to date. The album "A Love Story" is appropriately titled to convey a love story. The first half of the album starts with a story of love at... first site in "God Must Love You." The lyrics demonstrate the power of a woman over a man and how love at first site feels. One of the better cuts on the album. From there we are treated to a "Red Dress" another jazzy tune that displays the excitement of a first date. The next two songs tell the story of developing relationship that ultimately turns into a thankful blessing for finding that special person in a "Love Song." While the first half the album deals with the apple of the relationship, the second half deals with trials, tribulation, and reconciliation of a relationship. The second half starts of with "Sentimental Reasons" which tells the sins we can commit in a trusted relationship. The next two songs "Loneliness" and "Wish that I Could Tell You" deal with sorrow and regret. "Lonenliness" was the first cut that received airplay. The last two songs deal with reconciliation and we are treated to a duet in "Still My Boo." I had the opportunity to listen to all the cuts except "I promise" which is the last cut. Its safe to assume this cut is a likely happy ending to "A Love Story." All songs deliver powerful and passionate lyrics. Some songs will let leave you in awe. Other will let you reminisce. And for some there will be songs that will bring tears. A wonderful album for couples that overcame so much while just as fitting for those hopeless romantics. The music a mixture of guitar and piano for this album is phenomenal. There appears to be a jazz influence to the album. The melodies are very theraputic and album that you can enjoy on any day of the week. In closing, Babyface has worked with so many artist over the years. He has delivered hit after hit. And through it all he continues to provide such wonderful material that will be timeless classics that will be cherised by many for years to come. Read more Less
