Louisiana Blues (2005)

A foot-tapping, dance-inducing, rollicking good time, LOUISIANA BLUES is a window into the living rooms, streets, and honky-tonks where some of the South's best music is played. Documentarians J.P. Bruneau and J. Reynes traveled deep into Louisiana in 1992, collecting samples of the local sounds of Cajun and Zydeco music. Featuring such artists as Canray Fontenot, Bruce Daigrepont, John Delafose, The Basin Brothers, Beausoleil (& Michael Doucet), Lynn August, Zydeco Joe, Wayne Toups, and Beau Jocque, among others, the music is of a quintessentially Louisiana flavor. Topped off with a little background information on the history of the Cajuns, the accordions, fiddles, guitars, and mandolins have a story of their own to tell.
