
Hailing from Baja California, los Tiranos del Norte comprised lead vocalist/bajosexto player Gustavo Cota, second vocalist Juan Luis Montaño, accordionist Omar Velazco, guitarist Luis "Memo" Bernal, bassist Ricardo Carrasco and percussionist Daniel Morales. After signing to the Fonovisa label, the group debuted with an eponymous 1992 LP, followed by albums including 1994's Para Mi Reina, 1995's Inolvidables and 1996's Con Sangre Nortena. A year later los Tiranos del Norte signed with Sony International, where they issued De la Tierra al Cielo; El Sol followed in 1998.
