Latin rock band los Lagartos was formed by bassist Adrián Rubio, drummer Paco Finamori, singer/guitarist Luis Estrada, and guitarist Lalo Plaxx in the early '90s. Following a rehearsal period, los Lagartos started playing in the local club circuit, soon afterwards, Chucho Roldán took Plaxx's place. After performing along with Botellita de Jerez at its tenth anniversary celebration, the band signed up to BMG/Culebra, recording Confesiones a Manuela, released in Mexico and the U.S. in 1994. When Roldán decided to leave the act, Klaus Warkentin and César Guerrero joined in. In 1996, los Lagartos made their second album, called Pelotas.
