Cons: The story is long, but the story is always moving along.
If you love western movies and love stories, then this movie is for you. With this movie, you can't help but feel for the characters. Its like you are actually part of the story. You will be wanting a happy ending, but the ending you get is real, but reflective. And in the end, you will want the story to continue. Watch the movie............you won't be disappointed. ...

Duvall is simply superb. Watch the movie a time or two intent on looking just for the small details and you'll see Duvall at his best...right down to grunts and groans carrying his saddle, his hand movements, rubbing his moustache, or gently touching the head of one of Claire's daughters.
An excellent portrayal. ...
