VERY Poor Picture Quality
Pros: Try an Etch-a-sketch, its faster
Cons: You just threw away $30 bux
I'm helping my 11th grader cousins install the camera, and we belive that it should be illegal to sell electronic garbage like this Logitech Quickcam in this century.

I think that the logitech quick cam express is da bomb. You can make videos, use it as a camera, or broadcast live with it. It is easy to set up and to use. I wouldn't have any other webcam.

For the price I paid I didnt expect perfect quality but the quality and graininess were worse than I expected. You get what you pay for I guess. Ill be returning it and bite the bullet on cost for something with a little better picture quality.

This was the WORST cam I have ever seen in my life. It was awful!
The picture was so grainy, dark, you had a choice of skin color between red or green. Unable to get a skin tone color. I was unable to use any of the photo shot programs that came with the cam. It would have been helpful to have a little information as to "how to fix error messagaes that might occur" and what the error messages mean. The error message I was getting was "the device was being used by another application, please close it", I didn't have any other programs running at the time. ?? As for getting onto the website and trying to figure out the error messages.... forget it, it was to complicated for me.
However, the setup and installation was a breeze for someone like me that know very little about computer programming. I give it an A-.
This cam is being returned to the store TODAY!

I received this cam for free as a promotional offer and now I know why! While the price is right for someone who wants a bare bones webcam, the poor software and even worse qaulity will make you regret you had not just spend $10 or $20 more on a better cam.

This is one of the cheapest web-cams that you will find out there... if you are wanting to do a home-theatre version of "The Matrix", you might want to splurge a little, and buy a higher quality camera. But if you are just looking to get your face on-line for video chat, or visiting with family, this is a decent little camera with little to no effort in set-up and installation. (Note: make sure that you have plenty of lighting in the room the camera is to be used; it does NOT work well in low-light situations.)I recommend it for people who don't have a lot of cash, but really want to have cam capability.

We bought the version with the button on the top, and the image quality was very poor. We exchanged it for Logitech's top-of-the-line model (as of this writing), the "Logitech QuickCam Pro 3000", which has excellent image quality.

"[The image] sensors determine, to a large degree, the quality of the image captured. The QuickCam Express uses a CMOS sensor, which provides a lesser quality image when compared to that of a CCD camera, such as the QuickCam Pro. If you are looking for a camera which will provide image quality similar to a camcorder, you may want to exchange the QuickCam Express at your point of purchase for a QuickCam Pro."
Note that Logitech also makes an in-between model called the "Logitech QuickCam Web", and a friend of ours has that model. Although that model also uses a CMOS sensor (like the QuickCam Express), I have not noticed an image quality problem on it. But I also have not compared it side-by-side to the QuickCam Express.
