Even though the Lizzie McGuire show finished and the movie was released well before Lizzie McGuire: Total Party came out, the album showed that both Disney as well as the show's fans wanted still more Lizzie and Lizzierelated music. Though this album doesn't include any songs by Hilary Duff, tracks such as "Theme to Lizzie McGuire" make it pretty darn close to a total Lizzie McGuire party. This collection features betterquality teen pop than most Disneyrelated albums, including Hoku's flawlessly frothy "Perfect Day [Sunshine Mix]" and Pink's "Get the Party Started [Radio Disney Edit]." Other perennial teen pop faves such as the ATeens, BWitched, and Vitamin C do their shiny, perky pop thing on "Dancing Queen," "C'Est la Vie," and "Smile." Atomic Kitten and Kool the Gang's duet on "Ladies Night," Nine Days' anthemic "Us Against the World," and 3LW's urban/teen pop fusion "No More (Baby I'ma Do Right)" help round out the festivities. Lizzie McGuire: Total Party also includes three kar...aoke instrumentals, including one of Duff's "I Can't Wait." The collection is solid enough that it could almost double as an alternate history of teen pop, divorced of its Britney and Christinasized megastars.
