The second of three Fats Waller Giants of Jazz LPs that make available some of his well-recorded radio broadcasts, this album should greatly interest Waller collectors for 11of the 13 songs were never commercially recorded by Waller. Fats' sextet includes either Herman Autrey or John Hamilton on trumpet, Gene Sedric on tenor and clarinet, guitarist Al Casey, bassist Cedric Wallace and drummer Slick Jones in addition to the pianist/vocalist/leader, and they are in fine form for the two broadcasts. Waller keeps the proceedings moving along, making most of his own announcements; Kay Perry has two guest vocals. Among the more memorable selections are "Stop Beatin' Around the Mulberry Bush," "Hallelujah," "Whatcha Know Joe" and "Frenesi." Recommended.
