The one-time leader of Level 42, bassist/vocalist Mark King, chose to pursue a solo career after the U.K. funk-pop band broke up in 1994, issuing such releases as 1999's One Man on his own. On the aforementioned album's subsequent tour, King assembled a fine backing band, comprised of members Nathan King (guitar, vocals), Lyndon Connah (keyboards, vocals), and Gary Husband (drums), which was showcased on the 2002 DVD release =Live in Concert. The concert was recorded live on June 15, 1999, for the German music TV program Ohne Filter: Musik Pur, with King and his cohorts delivering 12 flawlessly executed tracks over the course of an hour. Standouts include the up-tempo opener, "Hot Water," such back-to-back slow compositions as "Love Wars" and "Bitter Moon," and the King slap-bass showcases "Love Games" and "Mr. Pink," as well as a fine rendition of Level 42's biggest hit, "Something About You."
