    A muscians point of view.

    Let me begin by saying I am not an avid gospel listener. I primarily prefer music that stretches the ear and is atypical of a genre. Bottom Line, THIS IS THE ONE! The harmonies and melodies are hauntingly beautiful. Even a non-believer has to feel th...is one. Intricate fills and synchronized lines from the drummer and bass hold the pocket. The keyboard harmony is masterful (definitely not a typical modal R&B tune trying to be gospel thang <-- for the musicians). The band reminds me of "Mint Condition"... but believe it or not… on steroids! This music transcends category to the point where you’re thinking of what to call it. I don't profess to know what heaven is like, however, clearly there is an elevation of our preferences and senses when we become divinely inspired. After hearing this I feel I have tapped into a little of God's heightened musical mind and appreciate it dearly. Thank you Kim for sharing what he has given you. Read more Less

    I HEARD A FEW REMIXED TRACKS TO PREVIOUSLY RECORDED TRACKS. I LIKED THEM ALL AS ALWAYS. KIM BURRELL IS A ASSET TO TOMMY BOY RECORDS!!

    I feel that Kim Burrell is a very talented vocalist. I rated the album "4" because I just felt that it was a beautiful album. The songs were long and there weren't even 12 on the album. Other wise she has a beautiful voice and she knows how to use it.... My favorite song is Try Me. Read more Less

    Kim Burrel has definatley took her music to a whole new level with this one. The message is the gospel however the delivery is not for musical delinqeunt. Jazz lovers will relish this cd as they will all the others but for those you looking for the ...new "mainstream gospel sound" will have to listen twice to fully appreciate this gospel dynamo.     I am a singer and listening to her sing made me want to practice a little more.I love the fact that it seemed like she didn't even parctice,her music is so perfect. I want to be like her one day. Her first cd was good and so was the second one.

I'VE HEARD GOSPEL ALL MY LIFE...NEVER LIKE THIS!!!!!!! THIS WOMAN IS SO UNREA...L. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS LADY. THIS WOMAN HAS CHAKA KHAN ADMITTING TO STEALING HER RUNS. THE BAND WAS KICKING. SPUT, NATURAL, VOLLIE, MAURICE, AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, THE GREATEST ORGANIST IN THE WORLD JAMAIN, THESE FELLAS ARE SICK IN THE MIND!!! A GREAT WORK FOR THE GREATEST SINGER (TALENT WISE) OF ALL TIME. I ADVISE ALL TO GET HER FIRST TWO ALBUMS, THEN BUILD UP TO THIS ONE BECAUSE IT IS TOO MUCH TO START OFF WITH. EVEN IF YOU DONT LIKE GOSPEL GET IT AND LISTEN TO THE RIFFS.
