Atlanta-based Caroline Aiken's second live album, recorded at ~Eddie's Attic in Decatur, Georgia (her first live album was appropriately entitled Live at the Attic), features her own well-crafted songs, plus covers of tunes by Elton John, Don Henley, and Michelle Malone. Aiken showcases her excellent bluesy-folk vocals, guitar, and keyboards in both solo acoustic performances and with tasteful accompaniment by various musicians and vocalists, including Jack Williams, Angie Aparo, and Aiken's daughter, Sarah Page. Highlights among the 14 tunes include the original opener dedicated to her guitar, "My There for Me Guitar," and a stripped-down cover of the Allman Brothers Band classic "Ain't My Cross to Bear." The album also includes a nice original studio cut, "Saving Grace." Aiken has been a talent deserving wider recognition for many years and this self-released recording shows why -- fine songwriting, polished vocals, and stellar musicianship, with an excellent overall performance. - T...im Griggs, All Music Guide Read more Less
