    For "Live @ Roxy 2", Peter Rauhofer relies less on mainstream tracks and goes totally underground. The music speaks for itself. Peter takes on a musical journey that will start off with hard industrial tribal beats (Dark Clark's "...;If U Want Me") and then prgress to funky bass flavored house (Andrea Doria's "Bucci Bag") and then goes on a trip to paradise with Amuka's "Appreciate Me". This track alone is worth buying the CD. Peter continues the tribal assault with Hex Hector's "The Light" and continues to end with a retro house track (Peter Rauhofer's "Unique), and that's only CD1! Peter shows his most talent at selecting tracks and blending together for a true magical experience on CD2. The highlights include Lula's dark and seductive "My Empire", Yoko Ono's futuristic tribal stomper "Walking On Thin Ice", Friburn & Urik's "Elefants", Made by Monkeys' "I Try", and Peter's own house anthem "My House Is Your House." With Live @ Roxy 2, Peter definitely shows that he remains at the top of his game. Read more Less

    Peter Rauhofer has done it again by offering his fans a compilation of dance tracks that exhilarate and get the feet tappin'! Only Peter Rauhofer consisently writes, mixes, and chooses tracks which have it all: energy, humor, attitude, a constan...t sense of destination in phrasing, a palette of rich and colorful sounds used so intelligently, and a subtle sense of overall form which brilliantly leads us to tracks like "In this world."     Peter Rauhofer's impeccable taste shines through on his second collection of tunes inspired by New York City's ~Roxy club. Through juxtaposition, pacing, and by choosing any particular song's best suited mix, Rauhofer gets more substance out of mainstream house than most other DJs in the genre. Live Roxy, Vol. 2's first disc is the more upbeat and glittery with hits like Andrea Doria's "Bucci Bag," Amuka's "Appreciate Me," and ATFC's deep mix of Moby's "In This World" rubbing shoulders with some worthy lesser-known tunes. The second disc gets darker and more abstract with dubs chosen over vocal mixes and a slow and steady build to Rauhofer's own "This Is My House." Live Roxy, Vol. 2 is another example of how Rauhofer's hypnotic combination of dark and glossy continually works.
