The Linksys Wireless-G Music Bridge lets you bring the digital music streaming to or stored on your computer to your Home Entertainment Center, without running cables through the house. Using a wireless connection, the Music Bridge finally frees your digital music collection from those little computer speakers to play in full glory through your stereo or surround sound system.

The Wireless-G Music Bridge sits by your home stereo and connects to it using standard consumer electronics cables. Then it connects to your home network by Wireless-G wireless networking, or if you prefer, it can be connected via standard 10/100 Ethernet cabling. The included software creates a virtual sound system in your PC, which sends the audio output of any application to the Music Bridge and the stereo system. Use your favorite media player to play your music, and listen in the comfort of the living room.

    Pros: Excellent Product Once Its Installed

    Cons: Lousy Support From Linksys

    While some claim that this product is not compatible with Vista, it actually is. Unfortunately (and for reasons unknown to me), Linksys has done a lousy job with their directions and support. But this isn't unusual for Linksys. Their support of v...irtually all products is mediocre at best. However, once this product is hooked up, I found I couldn't live without it. Living in the Central Valley of California we don't have access to too many decent radio stations without static and other interference. Using the music bridge along with the myriad radio stations available through the Internet, the variety is virtually endless. Read more Less

    NO VISTA SUPPORT

    Pros: Creativity of fraudulent CISCO marketers

    Cons: Can't use it with Vista; Zero support when you find out

    I purchased this WMB54G unit after reviewing it extensively. I noticed on the materials that Vista was not listed on the box as an operating system. BUT, on the outside of the package, in BIG BOLD letters was...WORKS WITH VISTA! I got it home. In th...e box was the standard set-up instructions...and a loose one page addendum. The addendum referred me to the Linksys Vista Support site. The addendum indicated that instead of following the provided set-up instructions, I should download my drivers from the website. Well, I made my way to their website...I scrolled down until I found the model number for this unit...and what did I find? "Not Supported". I got on their support chat line to find out what was going on. The only support I got was that the person on the other end confirmed that Vista is not supported for the product and that "Top Management" had not informed the support team when it would be supported. I indicated that I could not return the product and asked what Linksys/Cisco was prepared to do to help me. Guess what I got back? "You'll need to talk to customer support. I can only help with technical problems". Guess what again? On the Customer Support section of the site...there is no chat line and no number to call. Bottom line: This WMB54G product was marketed fraudulently and there is not after sale support to address the issues. If you have VISTA...do not buy this product. I'd question the whole decision to buy Linksys/Cisco given this fundamental breach of common and appropriate business values as well. Read more Less
