This is a typical post-Night MovesSeger album, with the title smashleading the charge. The reasons tohave this disc are "Miami", "The Ring"and "Tightrope", and especially thebonus live track "Fortunate Son".Somehow deciding to release the awful"Amer...ican Storm" as a single was a bigmistake, and definitely hurt Seger'scareer for the 90's. • All Music Guide

At times sounding like a poor man's Springsteen, Bob Seger continued to mine the fields he'd plowed so well over previous efforts. There's the send-up of the U.S.A. in "American Storm," and the hard-rockin' "Sometimes," and the heartbreakingly beautiful "Somewhere Tonight." Oh yes, and the song used in those incessant commercials for American pickup trucks, "Like a Rock." A mature effort from a great American talent.

Combining the driving charge of Ryder's Detroit Wheels with Stonesy garage rock and devotion to hard-edged soul and RB, he crafted a distinctively American sound. Whi... Read more
